1 year later, more Mary Catherines

14 men found their way once again to the Monday Monster Mile with hopes and aspirations of getting their week started off right.  This monday for the most part was similar to any other Monday but was done in memory of my Mom Mary Catherine.  She passed 2 years ago from a Brain Tumor and so I had to try and make this bigger and better and faster then any other Monday and leave it all out on the AO.  So here is what we did:

Warmup sprint around the church

x20 SSH IC

x10 IST IC

x10 WM IC

Sprint across the street to the stairs behind the school

At the top of the stairs we did Jack Webbs.  Starting at 10 reps, meaning 1 merkin 1 air press, 2  merkins 2 air presses, and so on up to 10 and decrreasing by 1 every time you made it back to the top.

At the bottom we did Mary Catherines starting at 2 and increasing to 20 adding 2 reps everytime you made it to the bottom of the stairs

Mosey to the picnic tables

x10 Incline Merkins IC

x10 DIps IC

x10 Decline Merkins IC

x10 Dips

Repeato

Mosey back for Mary

x20 LBC IC

x20 Mason Twist IC

x20 The W IC

Elbow plank about 1:30

Recover, Recover

Moleskin

Thank you for indulging me and allowing me to use our workout as a platform to honor my mother.  I tend to keep a lot of things on the inside and F3 has allowed me to share my pains and happiness the past 2 1/2 years.  I did not share much when my mom was passing with all of you but just having a place to go to get away from that was what I needed.  All of you brothers helped me in a way that is priceless and not forgotten.  This is my way of not just honoring my mother but thanking the pax for making that time easier and making me a better me everytime I post.

8 men made it out for the Standard run and one lonely man for a standard ruck (did anyone tell cupcake that the HTL is over).  Although I believe this was an officially sanctioned BRR training event, it's a good idea coach was not present as I believe in 5 just days, including today, of training we have obliterated the training schedule in terms of distance, pace and overall smarts.

During said Standard there seemed to be lots of worry about how many burpees we were going to do this morning.  As promised we did not do 1 burpee even though one Standard particapant was overheard asking if we could do burpees instead during the jack webb ladder.

Chief will soon learn that I am a people pleaser and when he asks if we can do more Merkins by golly I will make sure we do some more Merkins.  That last round at the picnic table was for you Chief.

Tick-Tock, thank you for doing the calculations for us although many seemed disappointed that you were not able to tell us the number while we were doing them and had to wait until later to tally up the carnage.

Next week we will be coverging on Memorial Day with the rest of Isotope for a Memorial Day Murph at 131 Main at 7:00.  Keep your slack ears open as we get closer for clown cars and departure time.  Also make sure you have a name of a fallen soldier as they will be honored during the COT.

Aye!
