FNGs: Jack (Drebin 2.0), Sloane and Ellie (Jobe’s 2.0s), Blake (Tuffy’s 2.0), Tyler (guy who just jumped in halfway through)

Another awesome day of soccer. The dark-shirt team started strong with an AMPM hat trick and an absurd juggling goal by kachow. around the halfway mark it was 4-1, but AMPM had to leave and FNG Tyler joined the light shirt team. His addition, plus the relentless attack of Jobe’s 2 daughters up front, lead to 4 quick goals for the light team. after some slight reshuffling, we continued playing until, with 5 minutes to go, it was tied 6-6.

Fudd played an absolutely immaculate cross just past the keepers hands, which dropped right to the feet of YHC 5 yards away from an open net and no defender in sight. I promptly blasted it 10 yards over the crossbar, a perfect 3 point field goal if only we were playing a different sport.

5 minutes later YHC found myself on another quick counter, and luckily had the wisdom to lay off a pass to 8-year old Striker, who scored the game winning goal for the dark shirt team.

VNA: Swayze, Slingshot. One of these days we’ll get Naantan out here too. 

Thanks to everyone for coming out, including the kids, who all held their own out there. The next generation looks bright. We’ll try to do this once more before the weather turns too cold!
