16th Anniversary of Operation Red Wings Murph

On June 28, 2005, deep behind enemy lines east of Asadabad in the Hindu Kush of Afghanistan, a very committed four-man Navy SEAL team was conducting a reconnaissance mission at the unforgiving altitude of approximately 10,000 feet. The SEALs, LT Michael P. Murphy, Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class, Danny Dietz, Sonar Technician 2nd Class, Matthew Axelson and Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Marcus Luttrell had a vital task. The four SEALs were scouting Ahmad Shah – a terrorist in his mid-30s who grew up in the adjacent mountains just to the south.

8 Men of F3LKN ventured out to pay our respects to the men who died 16 years ago by completing Lt Michael Murphy's favorite workout, which he named Body Armour.

The THANG:

  • 1 Mile Run
  • 100 Pull-ups
  • 200 Merkins
  • 300 Squats
  • 1 Mile Run

Moleskin:

Great job by everyone.  Kosar wore a 20 lb vest and broke up his sets in smaller increments.  Just for the record, I still have 40 lbs on him with the vest !  Everyone crushed the workout, even though it was a real struggle in the heat and humidity.

My first F3 Workout was the June Murph in 2016, 5 years ago a few days ago.   Thanks to everyone for all the support over the last 5 years.
