18 Pax followed me into the deep, well lit parking lot of Harris Teeter off Jetton and Catawba. YHC had his #BombBox in tow and the Pax set out on a mission to discover the Top 10 songs from 1982, when Callahan was 17, smoking cigarettes in his convertible wearing sunglasses at night, or at least that's my mental image. Stromboli was a father by then or at keast close. Outlaw was probably a freshman in high school, but a Godfather in the making. I hope you #Respect Pax enjoyed a blast from the past. In no particular order, here was the song list:
(1) "Every Breath I Take" by The Police
(2) "I Ran" – by Flock of Seagulls
(3) "Jack and Diane" – by JCM
(4) "Shock the Monkey" by P. Gabriel
(5) "Centerfold" by the J. Gelis Band
(6) "Back on the Chain Gang" by The Pretenders
(7) "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor
(8) "Africa" by Toto
(9) "Heat of the Moment" by Asia
(10) "Hold Me" by Fleetwood Mac

1. Outlaw was eerily quiet on the 5 burpee penalty. What can I say, he is a man of justice and Callahan was off. The Pax deserved the punishment. The Godfather (Outlaw) speaks even through silence. He all but said, without saying, "for you Scrappy, we do burpees." Outlaw with some extra credit, along with Cousin Eddie. We did about 2 miles per Full Moon.
2. Callahan has been to a few of my Q's where I am blasting some random ALT 90's band. So, to pay respect to my respecfully aged men, I gave you the year of 1982. What better gift than a time machine back to your youth. I missed your song by The Clash. Will keep in mind for next time.
3. Stromboli was the Wardaddy, and he just keeps on getting faster and faster.
4. Lonestar was actually on time.
5. Macbeth bought everyone coffee. Yes everyone.
6. Gnarly Goat was in the top Pax group all morning crushing it. Must be a combination of oversized cotton juxtaposed with falling leaves and cool temps. Baaa.
7. Jazz Hands is the kind if trivia. And quick wit – notably mentioning great Q Scrappy, but you wouldn't really know (as I hobbled around modifying on all the running and most exercises).
8. Omega followed me on one legged hops until he realized that was too literally following the Q.
Great to see 18 men. Awesome crowd. Moses is correct. 18 is the perfect synergy.
1982 done.
until next time,
Scrappy
