THE POLAR BEAR is much like "The Bear" that happens around summertime, annually in the isotope region but not really. You will be working in teams and will not be left behind. If you need to know more ask around we had around 60 pax last year
The Polar Bear is slightly more CSAUP with cold weather as its bite. This is the Second Polar Bear so you don't want to miss out. We are purposefully scheduling it the day before the superbowl so you won't feel as bad about all those wings, chips, dips, beers and appetizers during the game. It's a 3-hour event all within the confines of a 1,351-acre park. So, the distance can't be that great, right? Even if the total distance is a little more than you can handle, it will never be more than 1-1.5 miles before another non-running adventure awaits. Also, there are lots of other pax to keep you company during your misery. If you can complete an F3 workout, you can finish The Polar Bear.
The park gates should be open at 0700. The launch time is 0730, but you will want to show up early to see what this event is all about (rules, regulations, meet & greet, disclaimer, first-aid procedures, safety briefing about frostbite and hypothermia, death waiver, etc). Park and meet at the parking lot all the way at the end of the road to the left.
Don't forget to come prepared. Carry hydration, yes, even in the winter and nutrition. There will be limited resources interjected intermittently throughout the event, but don't rely on it.
