Quien es el Mas Macho – i.e., who in F3 is the most macho? This is the really big question weighing on the minds of the PAX across F3 Lake Norman. Accordingly, we are launching a new competition featuring a series of manly activities that will culminate in the awarding of the first annual Quien es el Mas Macho Title and Belt at the F3 Lake Norman Christmas Party in December.

Do you have what it takes?

If you want the title of el Mas Macho and the coveted belt, all you have to do is accumulate the most points across a series of manly events that will take place from August to November 2018 – deatils of each event will be provided to the PAX prior to each month.   Points will be awarded to each PAX for participation in the event, with bonus points awarded to the PAX that finish first, second or third in each event. The point system is simple:

  • Participate in an event = 15 points – it’s like signing your name on the SAT…. you get points for just showing up!!
  • 1st Place in an event = 10 bonus points – it pays to be a winner!
  • 2nd Place in an event = 5 bonus points – if you are not first you are last!
  • 3rd Place in an event = 3 bonus points – got to get something for the effort!

The PAX with the most accumulated points across all events will be declared el Mas Macho and will receive the coveted Quien es el Mas Macho Belt and the adulation of all F3 Lake Norman PAX. Additional event details will be provided as we get closer to the target months.

Lets get started!!  We are going to kick this competition off right with a family-oriented charity fishing tournament as the first manly event – details below:

EVENT #1 – F3 Charity Fishing Tournament

F3 Lake Norman will be hosting a family-oriented charity fishing tournament on Mountain Island Lake (Neck Road Access Launch Point) on August 4th from 7am – 12pm, with a BBQ and swimming post-tournament. Proceeds from the tournament will go to support the inaugural season of the Hopewell High School Fishing Team. The fishing team – which was started by TBone’s daughter Kacey and her 8th grade math teacher Dan Wicks – has been working the past several months to raise money and gather sponsors for their first season, but they still need help to get their team off on the right foot. This is a great opportunity for the F3 PAX to support our local community, and help build something from scratch. So, if you like (or love) fishing, and you want to start Quien es el Mas Macho off strong, then you don’t want to miss this event. Below are the general rules, requirements and sign-up instructions:

  • Location: Neck Road Public Access for Fishing Tournament. TBone’s House for BBQ/Swimming afterwards
  • Date/Time: August 4th – Tournament will run from 7:00am – 12:00pm. Team Check-in: 6:30am – 7:00am – Individuals/Teams will launch at 7:00am and must be back at the boat ramp by 12:15pm for scoring
