The Thang
Short jog over to Bailey Middle School where we did some 3-2-1s as follows:
- 3 min Fartlek (fast run, not quite a sprint) around the school until the whistle blows
- 2 min recovery run to regroup with everyone until the whistle blows
- 1 min jump ups / step ups on a wall
Repeato:
- 3 min fast run
- 2 min recovery speed towards the high school
- 1 min slow deep squats
Around the High School:
- 3 min fast run
- 2 min recovery speed
- 1 min people's chair
Then one more repeato of:
- 3 min fast run
- Recovery speed back to starting point.
Recover recover, *1 min late, apologies. Distance was 4.48 miles according to my Garmin.
Moleskin
- I'm still fuzzy on whether we're supposed to do Warmorama at HalfLife? I decided to because it was very cold, and boom!, the decision paid off. During the cotton pickers our dear friend Jolly Roger joined us. Had we not warmed up there, he wouldn't have found us as easily!
- Speaking of Warmorama, during it Moses asked if this was my first Q. No Sir, it was my 2nd! The 6 hours of sleep I got last night was 5 more than the night before my VQ.
- My first HalfLife post was Dec 16. I met ET and Hat Trick for the first time and we were joined by Kumquat. My second HalfLife post was Dec 23 and I met Metallica and Smokey for the first time, and we were joined by Moses (who I had met only once at a second F event) and Kumquat. This was my 3rd time here and I met Perrier, Primo, Beetlejuice, and Lettuce Wrap, I believe all for the first time. On one hand, it's great to keep meeting new runners. On the other hand, how awesome will HalfLife be at full capacity?! Let's get the entire band together bros next week!
- Moses often pushed the pace today and threw in 2 hurdles for good measure over a gate at the high school. Dude, you are fast.
