This year marks the 8th year Operation Sweet Tooth has been in existence, established to keep the memory alive of Olive’s 2.0, Christina Marie, also known as Sweet Tooth.
This year is also a difficult year, as Christina should have celebrated her Sweet Tooth 16th birthday.
Since our organization was established, we have been blessed to have a profound impact locally in our community. We have donated more than 4,000 toys supporting Levine’s Children Hospital, Camino Church, St. Mark Church, the Town of Huntersville, Ada Jenkins Center and many more. We have provided over 10,000 school supplies, snacks and gift cards and have supported Classroom Central, Communities In Schools, Blythe Elementary, Grand Oak Elementary and J.V.Washam Elementary. We have provided snacks, games, and toys to Kinder Mourn, an organization that helps grieving parents and children.
We have donated 23 Automatic External Defibrillators (AED’s) to the Town of Huntersville, the Town of Cornelius, Hinds Feet Farm, Charlotte Lab Schools, Hope House, Angels and Sparrow and many more. One of our donations saved a life in North Mecklenburg Park in Huntersville on April 24, 2019!
Our focus is to expand our efforts locally and to partner with our local system and school counselors to provide items of need for our children in addition to continuing to support our broader community by continuing to provide life – saving medical devices.
We are small but we like to think that we are mighty in the positive impact we have in our community. We are truly honored and blessed to have all this support and that only fuels our passion to make this world a better place and make sure our children of today and tomorrow are cared for.
We know there are many race options each weekend as we head into the Spring. We hope you consider participating in our race, to honor a little girl who was full of life until her last breath, as well as support Operation Sweet Tooth to assist children in our community who are less fortunate.
