Chasing our Inner Prefontaine

Event Date

Feb 10, 2016

5 pax (Moses, Primo, Perrier, Beetlejuice & YHC) left the comfort of their warm cars and heated seats to embrace the suck of a very cold #TheStandard.  In order to finish our full workout today, the 5 worked in a 2 mile warm-up and a 1600m sprint.  Then, they moseyed to the parking lot to welcome and round-up the remaining 4 for the official kickoff of this week's Halflife:

The Thang:

400m warmup

1 x 800m sprint – 400m recovery

1 x 400m sprint – 200m recovery

1 x 1600m sprint – 800m recovery

1 x 800m sprint – 400m recovery

1 x 400m  sprint – 200m recovery

Cooldown mosey until everyone finishes

OYO Stretch

Total Distance Covered:

Early Crew – 8 miles

530 Crew –  ~5 miles

Moleskin:

1)  Welcome to Lettuce Wraps father, Polaris!  Namings at Half-Life are rare.  Great background story.

2)  The 400m sprint followed by the 200m recovery followed by the 1600m sprint was no joke.  First time I've seen somebody merlot at a workout in a long time.  Way to leave it on the field, Beetlejuice!

3)  Great push by everybody this morning.  Intervals are painful.  Hopefully you can tell a difference if you've been coming most weeks – the shorter intervals definitely feel like they're getting easier.

Until next time…
