18 delinquents overran the prison yard at The Wilderness to see if they had what it takes to survive a jailbreak.
Here's how it all went down…
Warm-a-rama:
- Brief mosey around the playground and back to the home court.
- Burpees x15 oyo
- Windmill x15 IC
- Arm Rotations
The Thang:
- Mosey to the rock pile and choose your weapon (no shivving), and return to home court.
- Mericans (move 5 rocks to your left inbetween reps) 20,1,19,2,18,3,17,4,16,5,15,6,14,7,13,8,12,9,11,10
- Curls (same process as above)
- Shoulder Presses (same as above, but only completed 20,1,19 due to time)
- Did not get to Skull Crushers and Squats! 🙁
- Mosey to the Prison Yard
- Partner Prison Squats x10 (nice of you to join us The Force! As your partner, i noticed that you put on some weight recently…THANKS!!!)
- Sprint to other side and flapjack
- REPEATO
- Mosey back to home court, return rocks, and line up at end of court
- Jailbreak Crawl (aka Dragon Crawl) to other end of the court
Mary:
- RKC Plank 1 min (elbow plank with elbows directly under shoulders and fists shoulder-width apart…squeeze that buttocks tight!)
- Banana 1 min (legs straight and toes pointed forward)
- Bridge + Leg Lift x15 IC (shoulders and feet on ground, pull knees back on leg lifts)
Moleskine:
- 9-Lives and Calypso tried their best to confuse the Warden-Q on the alternating counts. Fortunately, i had bribed one of the prisoners with the promise of leniency to help keep me on-track (thanks Snake Eyes!).
- It was great seeing Haagan-Dazs, Dr. Evil, and Entourage out in The Wilderness!
- This was my first time with this routine, and It took a lot longer than i anticipated. I plan to use it again VERY SOON, but will shorten the time between reps. I think this has the potential to be really horrible!!
- The Jailbreak Crawl was a real crowd pleaser, as usuall. I believe it was 9-Lives who made a comment about the Warden trying to kill the prisoners, so i recited this quote from Braveheart: "Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live… at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take… OUR FREEDOM!"
- We closed out COT with the passage from Marrianne Williamson's book 'A Return to Love': "It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be [strong, successful, and a leader]? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
- Props to The Force for handing me the reigns, and for joining us for Mary!
