We Need More Denver

17 arrived from the gloom to celebrate the 3-year painniversary BEATdown.  No one left disappointed.

Atlantis starts things of with some warm up instructions – Anytime you hear the word "Denver" you immediately stop and do 3 burpees.  Also…going to exercise mind along with body with a trivia quiz.

Warm Up

Count off by 3's (of course) and then mosey over to the hill behind the fountain.

  • Partner 1 bear crawls over the hill and then crawl bears back…ouch, further than I thought

  • Rotate so everyone has the full set of fun

Mosey over to the Front Yard

  • Partner 1 does a suicide, yelling "Denver" at each tree….muahahaha

Mosey over to the 12 Trees and play follow the leader:

  • Start by stepping on the electrical box…and…***DOH – GoodWrench confirms that we should not step on the electrical box*** start over
  • jog zig zag style around the trees and zag zig back
  • the longest cacka lacka choo choo in Denver history

Time to mosey along to the clubhouse, where Skipper takes over the Q

The punishment begins simply…Hey guys, we are going to do something called 11's:

  • Groiners (of course, it's Skipper) and Donkey Kicks (again…Skipper), then bear crawl about 30 yards and mosey back.
  • 1 groiner/10DK's, 2/9, …10/1
  • Oh my, the pain.  The hips.  The shoulders.  The bear paws….ugh, UGH!!
  • Great job everyone pushing through the pain. 
  • T-claps to those who scaled it with lunges or other implements of pain.

  • Sometimes maybe we try to find little nuances about a verse.
  • Today, I thought I'd keep it basic.  I'm really impressed to see how many guys have stretched themselves over the last few years to lead a meaningful reflection.  I've seen a lot of growth, and I suspect that it is carrying through into leading your families as well.
  • Great job men.

  • T-claps to Atlantis for implementing the 3 burpees at every call of "Denver".  It was great to see the lightbulb come on when Mark started asking questions.  And I was so impressed to hear everyone's creative responses to every question.  Crackin' me up for sure.
