The Estate enjoys the Boomerang and the Zamperini Finisher Challenge

A baker’s dozen of The Estate’s finest came out to enjoy an easy work out.  Thanks to Tantrum for wearing out the men from Excelsior.  They had completed 3.8 miles with multiple sprinting legs. The Pax was ready for a boot camp workout with limited running.  I tried to quell their fears, but Magnus likes to run.  So we started the workout with more running, and headed the baseball field for the “Boomerang “.  Followed by the Zamperini finisher challenge.

  1. The itty bity Horseshoe was miss-marketed by the Q. It was quickly renamed the Boomerang.  The Boomerang proved to be a great follow-up to the Excelsior run.  This was the first time I had ever seen Turnpike and the Professor gassed at the start of a workout. Great set-up work Tantrum!
  2. Boomerang was cut-short by a couple of exercises, as the Q had his mind set for Zamperini finisher challenge.
  3. At the Zamperini finisher challenge, the mumble chatter ensued.  TBone calling out Magnus with BS calls not learning math correctly in accordance with ladder workouts. Turnpike recognized that “Magnus was a child of the 80’s with is music selection:  Tom Sawyer, 5150, Paradise City, TNT, and Panama.
  4. Once we had completed the Zamperini warm-up.  It was on!  13 men with cinderblocks overhead and not wanting to be the first to put it down.  The enjoyed working out in the shade. If you put your cinderblock down, you had to plank in the hot sun and watch the finishers. It was close one down the end but just a few prevailed. Starkist with 3rd, Eeyore in 2nd, and Elmers 1st place finisher (time ~ 3-4 mins, I did not have my stop watch set).
  5. Mumble chatter from the Pax, “We give too much credit to Al Gore1”, and “What do the Republicans call it”
  6. Thank you Professor for letting me lead this fine group of me. I am truly humbled.
  7. Finally, a quick shout out to our clown car (Tiramisu, Binary, Dry Rub, Eeyore, Smash, LoneStar and BigRock) that are always keeping me in check and accountable.  Schneider, I am glad to hear you on are on mend we miss you brother.  Hope to see you soon.
