AO

Also Anvil, Undertaker, and Energizer.

11 gathered at the SVU launch pad Saturday morning to play on the swings. YHC didn’t have a swing set growing up so I decided to make up for it with some dedicated swing set time and who better to enjoy it with than the SVU Pax.  Here’s how we passed our play time together…

Warm Up

20 IC Side Straddle Hops

15 IC Mountain Climbers

15 IC Low Country Crab Cakes

15 IC Imperial Squat Walkers

15 IC Wind Mills

Mosey to back to get block and return to swing sets

Swing Set Play Time

We lined up one block with each swing apparatus and did 3x an eleven station meat grinder going 45sec on and 15sec off/rotate alternating between a swing apparatus and a block with a park bench thrown in for good measure.  The eleven stations were as follows:

1st swing – Right leg squat with left leg on swing seat

1st block – Curls

2nd swing – Left leg squat with right leg on swing seat

2nd block – Overhead Press

3rd swing – Wooly Worms

3rd block – Skull Crushers

4th swing – Inverted Wooly Worms

4th block – Tri-fectas

5th swing – Plank with feet on tire swing and hand walk around circle

5th block – Squat Thrust

Bench Step-Ups

Run to top of small hill and do 5 Burpees and return for round two.

Round two same as first round except first two swings were used together for chest butterflys and additional block used for bent over rows.

Run to top of small hill and do 5 Burpees and return for round three.

Round three same as second except inverted wooly worms replaced with chain pull ups.

Return blocks to rear playground then run to top of small hill and do 10 Burpees.

Mary

Unfortunately there was a Q-fail with time management and no time for Mary.  There was much disappointment.

Reflection

I was inspired by a saying posted on the Facebook page of my former pastors Hubert Clinard.

At my lowest:  God is my Hope

At my weakest: God is my Strength

At my saddest: God is my Comforter

Hubert thru his ministry both here and in Costa Rica has been a blessing to so many for so long. However, he is now finishing his mission here on this earth and has asked that we no longer pray for his healing because he's ready to be in the Church Triumphant. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he continues his journey.  Also please pray for the family and friends of Butch Minyard, who went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday.

Moleskin

  • Had three (Atlantis, Cheetah, Light bulb) splash out at 6am for the swim around the buoy with Big Easy joining us for the bike ride.
  • We welcomed back FNG Dan Griffith and named him Anvil (for his secret desire to be a blacksmith).  A fitting name since we know that “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”  In both cases a good Anvil is a valuable asset.
  • We dubbed Undertaker’s 2.0 as Energizer.  Great also to have Undertaker back!
  • Got a textile lesson from Light Bulb.  Who knew that he made thread for feminine hygiene products?
  • Great effort by all.  It was a pleasure and honor to lead this morning!
