Last weekend was the 15th anniversary of 9/11. One of the most compelling stories was of Tom Burnett. Would you, faced with danger, do the same? Burnett was one of the passengers of United flight 93 and was famously quoted with the phrase: "Let's Roll!" before attacking the hijackers of the plane. Tom Burnett was one of the passengers on United Flight 93 that eleventh of September morning in 2001. Like many, he began calling his wife once the hijackers took control of the plane, he made three of these phone calls as a matter of fact, each time learning more from his wife about the events already transpiring that morning. He had tried to no avail to help one of the passengers stabbed, and soon realized that this was not a typical hijacking for ransom. He told his wife Deanna "if they're going to crash this plane, we have to do something!". She asked what she could do, and begged him to wait for the authorities, he replied "We can't wait for the authorities, what are they going to do anyways?….All you can do is pray…Don't worry, we are going to do something.". Then he hung up. In the air over Pennsylvania, Burnett and others attacked the hijackers, and the plane impacted an unoccupied piece of farm field instead of a major population center or symbolic target.

What is that tipping factor that would switch us from waiting for the drink cart to using the drink cart to ram open an airplane cockpit? We are just impressed and honored that people like Tom Burnett, took it upon themselves to do what they did for the lives of others.
