Fightclub – Go to sleep

Event Date

Jun 02, 2017

There are times when an agressor will present you with a quick and easy way to end an altercation,, and we get to put them to sleep.  When performed properly it takes about 4 seconds to put an end to an attack, but care should be taken,,,,,,  if you apply this technique and fail to recognize that the person has stopped his attempts to harm you,,,, you can cause severe damage.  This move should be released as soon as the aggressor is incapacitated.

The technique is fairly simple and one must remember that in order to be effective, the attackers arms needs to be included,,, well,, in all but one situation.

Now, the actual technique is easy,,, but getting in to the correct position requires practice and understanding.

We addressed a variety of confrontational positions and how to apply and get in to the correct positions.

The exact procedue will not be explained here as practicing without proper instruction can lead to very serious consequences.  But the Control of the body and the rotation of the shoulders are essential,  but we have been practicing this control for some time now,,, so this will become another tools that can be applied from what is becoming a familiar position.  Very often the person that is attacking attempts to tackle or take us to the ground.  While doing this they expose their neck, head and shoulders allowing control and eventual application of these techniques.  What is to be remembered is that we must control the transition from standing position to the ground.  When defending we must have an attack pathway.  Only defending and trying to get away will allow the attacker a clear avenue to keep attacking…. so defending must include counters and attacks to eliminate the continued threats of attack.

Each of the Pax was suprised at how easy it is to be placed in , or place another into, this very compromising position.  Some are painful while others are relatively pain free.  But each will lead to the same result,,, a complacent (sleepng) attacker.

Once we practiced this section for a while we moved on to active combat.  This is becoming a regular part of the training as it is necessary to bring the timing and reflexes up to real time.  We exposed liabilities and trained to attack the weaknesses presented to us.  And yes YHC got hit a few times,,,, appologies were given but were not necessary.  When you train to swim you get wet,,, when you train to fight you get hit.

Motorboat and Contra are displaying a clear understanding of the techniques and have made advances in the succesful applications in combat.  We have fun, receive bruises and produce a bit of pain.  We train to better ourselves and hopefully improve our abilities and confidence should a dangerous situation arrise.

Thank you for allowing YHC to train with you fine men.
