18 men overcame the power of the Fartsack and made their way to Stumpy Creek Park for a beatdown that had been promised. The pax were advised to circle up around the shovel flag at 6:56. YHC had assembled a plan and a uniform to make this day special. Several of the Race City pax were participating in the BRR events last weekend so the 9-11 memeorial workout was postponed until this week. YHC put on the full gear Pants, Jacket, Gloves, a 30 pound ruck, to simulate an air pack, a wrapped up fire hose over one shoulder and a extenguisher in the other hand. YHC approached the pax to several groans and a few laughts not yet sure what was going to happen. A few simple instructions were given and the pax helped pic up some gear and we headed off the the staircase. The shovel flag was planted at the top of the stairs. We made our way to the bottom for warm o rama. SSH x 20 windmill x 10 and thats all we had time for.
THE THANG
The Pax form a straight line at the bottom of the hill the person at the end of the line puts on the full fire gear including the hose, ruck, and extenguisher climb up all 40 stairs to the top and complete at least 10 burpies more if they choose. We will do switching off until we reach 343 to represent the number of fireman lost on 9-11. At the bottom the pax are instructed to do merkins 1 at a time up and down the line snaking back and forth the whole time this is going on until we have completed 2,977 the total number of casulties on 9-11 (Minus the terrorist they don't count). Continue going up the hill one at a time until everyone has gone. We got through all the pax just before 8 and we carried all the gear and coupons back to the start. We were a few burpies short so we knocked those out as a group and had a few merkins remaning so we finished those also. For time sake not everyone put on the full fire gear but everyone carried the coupons. Each one of these merkins and each burpie was not just a number but represents a person that was lost that day.
MOLESKIN
Contra said this is the least he has ever ran at an F3 workout. Your welcome
Roughly 165 merkins each person
Great job by all the pax making this happen
We are thankful for our community servants especially fire and police officers who are willing to put themselves in harms way daily to protect others.
