What a great day to work off some anger created by the rising tide of stupidity displayed in this world. YHC would get into the reasons but that would just cause the anger to rise again. To make a blanket statement to all you imbeciles in the world,,,,,, GFY.
Ok, so today was a good day for training. And we add to the list #Cable who is not listed on this site. We advanced from the place we left off last week. If you remember we learned that we already knew how to attack by using what we learned to defend. Same concepts just a different applcation. But now,, we need to step with a purpose and take advantage of the opurtunities created when we do. When we attack, we must control anything that can damage us. We also must limit the opponents ability to move while distroying his weapons and base. We already have a number of tools to accomplish this. The hard part is doing it all at the same time. So,, of course,, we drill and drill.
So how do we accomplish this. When moving in to attack a person, we will encounter personal weapons that must be addressed. We cant just focus on our attack, we must control anything that can be a danger to us,, typicallly the hands, elbows, knees and feet. The training so far has focused on the skills that will be required to perform these actions. And it was quickly observed in all that the bodies already knew how to be successful.
One thing that we must remember is that, in a fight, most people do not want to move their feet. So when we practice moving and stepping we must try to exagerate these moves ( at first) until they become natural. In a fight your mind will try to stop the body from doing what needs to be done. Our steps will get smaller and slower which will lead to a dangerous lack of committment in the attack. This will not end well. So,, step with a purpose and strike using rotation. Oh,,, and now we add one more thing (but this gets fun). Why just step when we can attack the legs and destroy the base (and their ability to move) at the same time. So, we start to step and incidentally strike the outside of the knee with a love tap. OK, maybe it is more than a love tap, and yes it can hurt ALOT. So be nice in practice,, but learn this well because the inclusion of the leg attacks as a normal part of stepping will give us a great advantage in battle. and yes there is more,, because now we can get to do some very "not nice' things. The natural extension of the combined hand and leg attacks leads to the total destruction of body parts allowing for the continued attack on center line targets. Once we get comfortable striking the legs while stepping, (and striking as we move) we have opened the door to destruction. If you recall we praticed legs traps in the past ,,, well now we get to apply these wonderful tools for destruction. We attack, move in, stirke targets and legs and place our feet in a postion of advantage……setting the trap. Yes, we set traps by the placement of the feet. and once the trap is set,,, we use it. A pull trap to the ankle ,, sliding off once balance it taken and striking downward onto the lower leg will produce and wonderful and unusual sound. Once you hear that sound you will remember it forever,, ok two sounds are actually produced. Each as memorable as the next. The first is a rather loud snap as the bones of the lower leg crack from the pressure (YHC can still recall that distinct sound),, the next sound that follows is a horrific screetching howl of pain. Typically the battle is over at this point. Funny how that works, but yes pain is usually required to end a battle. It is a very effective tool to force compliance.
After we had fun practicing these techniques we discussed the concept of "seeing the Demon". This is what was taught to YHC as meaning "to discover the true intent of another". In a fight we will find that many good fighters will use techniques to hide or mask the true intent of their attack. We will study this in more detail in the future. We must see through the facade and discover this intent before it is too late.
Thank you for allowing YHC to train with you fine men. It is the honor of YHC to share what has been taught in order to help each live in a state of peace.
