Team Up Butter Cup

Event Date

Jan 01, 2018

What a day for a Q! There was a mysterious text that said that the Wolf Den would have some visitors at their beloved AO so excitement was in the air to see who would come visit! The page wouldn't let me post this to last year's date so it looks like we worked out on Monday instead of Saturday. Oh well.

Warm Up

  • Met in front of the school and planted the flag at 7:00am.
  • 20 SSH IC
  • 10 Windmills IC
  • Jog to Tennis Court for active stretching – the Q is pretty sure he heard Blaze moaning, afraid that he would have to lead in his famous tennis drills. No worries Blaze, just active stretching.
  • Kosac Stretch, Sampson Stretches, Arm Circles, Huggers

The Thang

  • Our surprise guests were Diesel and C# so we wanted to show them the best of our AO – that means that we HAD to take them to the tire-flip-pad
  • Team up and flip the tire 10 times each, doing 2 Merkins while your partner flipped.
  • Mosey to the top of Battle Hill and to our favorite playground.
  • Team up for 150 chest dip chippers (because yes, we have 3 sets of parallel bars perfect for Ye’ Ole Mud Run Training.) First person starts with dips and does as many as he wants and then the partner jumps in and takes over. Works the team to the 150.
  • Team up for 100 pull-up chippers.
  • Mosey to the track.
  • Itty Bitty Baby suicides – forward and back on the lanes on the track at all 4 corners
  • Bleacher follow the leader – run the stairs up down, and all around.
  • Visitor’s Bleachers – Box jump to the top, stand and talk for a minute. Plot how to use the river behind the stadium for mud run training
  • Mosey to the stairs out of the Wolf Den – if you want to leave, you have to Jacob’s Ladder out!
  • Mosey back to the top of Battle Hill for your history lesson, given on shaky quads.
  • Mosey back to AO

Reflection:

  • Several of the Loyalists that fought for the King went on to become great leaders in the Lincolnton County area in government and religion. Once the war was over they were able to seek forgiveness, earn trust, and move forward with their lives.
  • During Christmas the mini-busses struggle trying to figure out the relationship between Santa and Christ in terms of last minute forgiveness in exchange for presents – how long do they have to clean rooms, be kind, make amends, and do anything else they might need to do to receive gifts on Christmas morning? Does a prayer of repentance go to Heaven and then the notes get sent to the North Pole???? How long do they have to do this before the sled is loaded and presents cannot be added?!?!?!?
  • While much of this quandary is in jest, it is a source of comfort for many of us that we have a Redeemer that has offered Himself as our Savior and has offered us a way to repent and to feel the peace of forgiveness, restitution, and being better each day. Use this new year wisely, be more active in our families, in our service opportunities, and in our communities. Be better this year than last, and keep being awesome.

Mole Skin

  • It’s tough to heckle when you’re the Q. I miss heckling. We need more Qs.
  • An odd number of guys out this am – put working in partners in a weird spot. But we managed.
  • C# is plotting his Q at our AO. Add in a couple of Muahahahahas here.
  • Diesel was clearly jealous of our AO and the many many miles of running and training spaces available to us. Also – what a manly beard! Shout outs to him!
  • Reload was steady as ever – when he speaks, you ought to listen. It’s either wise or witty.
  • Blaze – he is almost back to full recovery from his blood clot ailments. Thank you brother for sharing with us at breakfast. You’ve been in our thoughts and prayers and we are cheering your success!!!
