A Balmy Monday at The Sword


A Pax of 13 Took to The Sword on This Balmy Monday….

I was running a little late this morning only to pull into the parking lot with an eager Pax ready to go.  Without much time for chit chat or stretching, 5:30 struck and we were off.  Here is our story.

Warm-a-Rama:

Run around the extended, well-lit parking lot up to the pull up bars and circle up.

20 – SSH

10 – Cotton Pickers

15 – IST

10 – Windmills

The Thang:

Run around the small island by the pull up bars and do 1 burpee.  Repeat this 5 times increasing the burpees by 1 each time for a total of 5 laps and 5 burpees.

10 – Pull Ups

20 – ‘Mercans

30 – Squats

Lap around the island. 

Repeat-o two times for a total of 3 rounds.

Mosey over to the rock pile in the new parking lot area and grab a rock.  Split into two groups.  Group 1 performs an exercise while group 2 runs to the other end of the parking lot and back.  When Group 2 returns, switch and run to the end of the lot.  The exercises were as follows:

  • Rock Swings
  • Curls
  • Squat Thrusters
  • Bent over rows
  • Skull Crushers
  • Shoulder Press

Mosey over to the fire pit area and find a spot on the wall.

10 – Box Jumps

15 – Dips

10 – ‘Dercans

Repeat-o

Moleskin:

Nice to see the temps finally break today.  It was a steamy 20 degrees and almost uncomfortably warm.  Great work by all today.  It was nice to see the “ruckers” out today.   Etch was in his true form.  The Sword misses you LaBon.  I think Bam Bam was here today??  It was either him or a ninja.  I couldn’t tell with all the stealth black gear on.  I think we determined Vinegar Bend is a small town in Alabama.  Bunyan was having a rough go with letting go of the Panthers loss last night until I told him the plight of being a Bears fan.  Tuck keeps showing up and getting stronger.  You’re ready to lead brother.  If you haven’t Q’d in a while, sign up on the calendar to Q this Great AO.  Until next time, I’ll see you in the gloom.
