Four hearty souls made it out on a Tuesday morning, at 21 degrees Fahrenheit, and were clearly in need of inspiration and perspiration. Here is the 411.

Warm-o-Rama

Front skip, backwards skip, Karaoke x 2, SSH, TS, Windmill, Cherry pickers and Mercans

The Thang

In a unique twist based on it being too cold out for weights and a lack of any extensive alternate planning, Pax provided with a democratic option to choose the workout. Four options were presented:

  • The Murph

  • Sprintervals

  • Timing exercises at the benches

  • Moseying tour of the Quarry with a smattering of pain stations along the way

Pax unanimously choose the moseying tour of the Quarry.

Lap 1

  • Pull-ups, Leg lifts – at playground

  • Decline mercans, Dips – at benches

  • LBC, Windshield Wipers at covered area

  • Calf raises, CDD – at stairs near lot

Lap 2

  • Mike Tyson, Squats – at curb in back lot

  • Incline mercans, Alternating leg step-ups – at benches

  • Leg ups (not reverse crunches) and W or V ups

  • Around the world lunges, Alternating and shuffling Mercans

Lap 3

  • Pull-ups, Leg lifts – at playground

  • Incline Diamond Mercans, Dips – at benches

  • Low dolly, low flutter and Freddie Mercury – at covered area

Moleskine

  • Good call on Pax selecting option 4. Although we have done something similar recently, it’s really good to keep moving in the cold.

  • There is a direct relationship between the lower temps and the lack of mumblechatter. Body can’t waste precious energy when it’s so cold. Or perhaps it’s just because Oktoberfest did not show

  • Consecutive streak of Pax having never voluntarily chosen the Murph continues

  • Nice touch voicing over the “squats with flair” motions on the around the world lunges since these exercises are related

  • It’s apparently tough to find an F3 workout in Chapel Hill to attend, even if you research it in advance and jog 1.5 miles to the alleged meeting point

  • There is a GoFundMe page that has been created to fund sweatpants (or calf sleeves) for Grip

  • Although the pre-blast picture has been distributed previously, I do really like her smile

  • In a theatrical surprise, Jumanji was a highly entertaining movie

  • Continued prayers for Kevin’s daughter who is recovering from surgery

  • Not sure about yooz, but I am inspired

  • It’s an honor and a privilege
