A few minutes before 5:30 it was just Uncle Rico and YHC standing alone in the parking lot. That would be a death match I don't want to see. Would have had to call an entire Catch Me If You Can workout.
Then Pax started appearing out of the dense fog until we had a crazy 8. Roadie was a bit late, but we couldn't hold it against him, he woke up early to get a second helping of This Is Us in before the workout. He mumbled something about a football game, but no one seemed to care. Except maybe Auto, who stopped in the middle of the workout to sob and let his frustration out "Why Tommy, why? That pass hit you right in the hands. You always make that pass rusher miss. Garappolo would have gotten it done!" It could be worse, Auto. You could be Kosar, who not only roots for the Browns, but is named after one. Maybe in 10 years they will become the next dynasty? I (barely) recall the Patty Cakes being equally awful 25 years ago.
Warmup:
Pretty typical except for the one-legged SSH's, a favorite of YHC. Also a funky plank that I can't really describe and may never call again.
Mosey to basketball court. Line up on the sideline. 1 minute to run back and forth across the court as many times as possible. Then 15 pretzel crunches IC each leg.
Mosey to pullup bars and do 5 Corn Cob pullups.
Mosey back to basketball court. Line up again. Repeato run for 1 minute. Then 20 LBCs IC
Mosey to pullup bars and do 10 Commandos.
Mosey back to basketball court. Line up again. This time single leg hop across the court and back 5 times. On right leg going out, on left leg coming back. Then 20 WW1 situps OYO.
Mosey to pullup bars. Stop along the way for a swing through Birkdale's Bars, the newly assembled set of adult monkey bars (are monkeys are offended by that term?). Then 10 chinups.
Mosey to tennis courts. Line up on one side of tennis courts.
– Broad jump to other side of second tennis court and back. 15 Russian twists IC.
– Duck Walk to other side of second tennis court and back. Partner Up for 10 Prison squats each.
– Then partner carry across to other side of second tennis court. Flapjack and partner carry back.
Mosey to pull up bars.
– 10 toes to the bar.
– Then chin up / bent arm hang for as long as you can hold it. Uncle Rico put up a strong fight, but Kosar crushed this, looked like he could have gone on forever.
– Then dead arm hang for as long as you can hold it. Grip was tough with the gloves on, but everyone "hung on" pretty well. Not sure who held the longest, but my guess was Roadie.
Mosey to basketball court. Bear crawl forward to other side of basketball court and then backward coming back. Repeato. Then 20 low flutter IC. Line up for a final 1 minute run back and forth across the basketball court as many times as possible.
Circle Up for Mary:
20 Jane Fondas IC
Solid crew out today. Great to see some Birkdale staples and a few different faces as well. Gypsy ran a solo standard, while Auto and Big Rock ran over from home. Snake Eyes made it out fresh off the Polar Bear.
Thanks for giving me the chance to lead Auto and to the rest of you guys for respecting it.
Wanted to pass on something that Cornwallis shared over the weekend as he prepared to move to Indianapolis. God has given each one of us with talents, experiences, personalities, resources.. etc that are unique to us. Someone out there is in need of what we have. Use what you have to meet those needs. Find those situations and people, and GO. That's why He created us.

Psalm 125:1-2
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore.
