Uptown Taco Tuesday at The Local

* Gunny also in the pax, I think from metro.Taco Tuesdays have been quite the rage the past month or so, and this week was no exception. YHC, walked the block and a half from the finest retail operation in all of Uptown (Walgreens) to The Local where the festivities had already begun. Showing up late not only gets you a ticket to the kids table but also the honor of getting to write the backblast…so here we are. YHC came in way hot to a table of chuckling and elbowing brothers anxiously awaiting their selected tacos. As I fist bumped down the line of pax I realized that my seat was not to be found! Alas I see a second table had formed from the later arrivals and was glad to grab a chair with Turncoat and Titan! We chit-chatted a bit, most of our conversation was about all of the fantastic efforts of our F3 brothers at P200 this past weekend as well as our own war stories from the race. Apparently The Local is where Taco Tuesdays started so there was some pretty high expectations on the quality of the tacos. Turncoat and several others were high on the Beef tacos, but after Sweet C informed me I was doing the BB I decided I needed to sample all that this fine establishment had to offer. I went with 4 tacos, 1 chicken, 1 steak, and 2 beef. My ratings, 1-10, are as follows, FYI I’m that guy that says there’s no such thing as a perfect 10!The Local:Chicken: 4 out of 10, this one disappointed the most. It was well stuffed and toppings we’re ok but the chicken was dry which left me reaching for water after each bite. Steak: 6 out of 10, the steak taco was good, not great! Again, toppings we’re on point and the flavor was there, but the steak was not as tender as I had hoped, leaving me wanting a little more out of this one.Beef: 8 out of 10, The beef taco was by far the best. Good flavor, stuffed full of beef and toppings. I would go back here every week just for a few of these bad boys. Overall, I was very happy with the performance of these tacos as well as the great 2ndF, I was a little harsh on my criticisms because the F3 pax deserve only the very best and I believe the very best may be out there somewhere, we just haven’t searched hard enough.
