The Thang:
The Army gathered finally for a day without rain or cold. Five men showed up for the standard and 13 total for the workout, their story goes as follows:
Warmup:
15 SSH
10 Carrot Pullers
15 IST
10 Merkins
Partner up for some fun activities starting on the field:
– Round 1: partner 1 goes through the monkey bars, 5 pull ups, then back through, the alternate option was 10 burpees. Partner 2 was getting the blocks and working through curls, squats, skull crushers 15 of each. Flapjack
– With round 1 complete we took a pause to welcome our newest member to the AO. A fat round 200lb tire now calls Arnies home named Jack. Partner 1 gave it 2 flips and 3 burpees each time. Partner 2 engaged in block work curls, chest press, squat to press.
– We moved to the field of battle to wheelbarrow across the field followed by partner sit x 25 then incline merkins x 10, finished with 10 touch dem butts.
– A repeat of round 1 and then a repeat of working with Jack yet this time we did 3 flips each and 3 burpees with each flip.
– Blocks and Jack got put away and we headed to the bars for 1 pass through the monkey bars and 5 pull-ups, this time a good number of guys chose the burpee option.
– We returned to the field of battle for a wheelbarrow, situps, and merkins before circling up for a 1-minute plank and recover recover.
Moleskin:
– Nice work by Rocket, Tagless, Swing State, and Turncoat on the standard
– Smores was unusually quiet, not sure it was the workout or the pinecone that got stuck but great to see him out there.
– Jack is a great addition to Arnies, thanks to Magnus for getting the donation. We need to put Jack on a diet to cut weight and get him some drain holes.
– Swing State and Gypsie made the workout look easy, will have to dial it up for the next installment to get them to break a sweat.
– Some call TurnCoat a runner however after seeing him go back and forth on the monkey bars with no trouble, I would say he is a bootcamp guy who runs on the side.
– Sign up for Operation Sweet Tooth, Wednesday Soprano has the Hollywood Q, Roadie has the Q / MQ at Mighty Oak, DH has opened Gaga for the season Tuesdays at 5:30am. Either way get out there and support these guys.
