The Thang:
Let us begin our journey, my reflection (The Parable of the Sower) will be delivered along the way.

Q Reads aloud: Matthew 13:1-3

1 That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. 2 Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. 3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed…
So, let’s set out to do just that.  Parking lot mosey around and back to the sidewalk, where each PAX drop a seed on the sidewalk.
Q Reads aloud: As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
IC 10 Dippy Birds Right Leg
IC 10 Dippy Birds Left Leg
10 IC Flying sun gods sobriety style L leg – Lean forward, R leg back and off the ground, small arm circles
10 IC Flying sun gods sobriety style R leg – Lean forward, L leg back and off the ground, small arm circles reversed
10 IC Inclined Merkins on the curb
Continue our journey and mosey to the rocks, where PAX are to drop a seed in the rock pile, then select a lifting rock.
Q Reads aloud: Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
Take your rock over to the sidewalk and lay on your back.
10 IC Rock Presses (like bench press) – remind PAX of disclaimer
Lunge walk over to the Australian bar with rock.  Place rock on the ground in front of the bar.
10 OYO, lift rock place it on top of bar but don’t set it down, back to the ground, touch ground, but don’t set it down, repeat.  Keep back straight!
10 OYO Rock Burpees – burpee with rock, replace jump with raise block overhead
Walk with Rock overhead back to return it to the pile.
Continue our journey
Mosey to the wall, up and over, then hang a right down the trail.  Stopping just before we go into the woods.
PAX throw a seed into the weeds.
Q Reads aloud: Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.
10 IC Copperhead squats – start in squat position and slow count 123 coming up, 4 down fast.  To simulate the weeds growing up around the seeds.
Continue mosey down the trail into the woods, cross the bridge, and eventually find out way out onto the soccer fields
PAX throw seed into dirt at back of the baseball field/soccer field
Q Reads aloud: Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
50 IC SSH = 100
30 Squats IC = 60
15 IC Gorilla Humper = 30 (wide stance monkey humper)

Continue the journey and mosey down gravel road back toward the launchpad.
Stopping about half way in grassy area to perform:
Hydraulic Squats= 10 (That’s 1 squat down, 2 right knee down, 3 left knee down, 4 right knee up, 5 left knee up, stand.  That’s one, repeat)

Once back at the practice field area,
10 IC Merkins on shot put pad
10 OYO Australian Pull ups (palms facing away)
10 OYO Australian Pull ups (palms facing you)

Line up on the side of the field for “Belching” to the other side. – Pax lays flat on the ground planks in a line, Q says go. Everyone hops up similar to recovering from a burpee, and sprints 5-6 steps, then dives down flat planks on the ground remaining in line until the Q says go again. Essentially, you're advancing the field without the enemy fire being able to smoke you. Go hard, go quick.
This has nothing to do with the parable, just saw it in the exercise list and had to try it while on the soccer field.

Mosey back across field to get Bertha's water.
Sprint to launchpad where Q finished the parable journey….

The parable doesn’t say to only plant the seed in the good soil but scatter the seed everywhere.  The parable finishes by saying:  Whoever has ears, let them hear.”  For the most part, we all have ears, right… Whoever has ears, let them hear.” …but are we listening?  Are we fertile soil?
Verses 10-17 talk about how we hear but never understand, and how we see but never perceive.  We are calloused.
Then in verses 18-23 Jesus breaks down and explains what the parable means.
18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

So, in reflection to this parable, the seed represents God's Word.  What type of soil are you?

*** This Parable can be found in three places in the bible: Matthew 13:1-23, Mark 4:1-20, and Luke 8:4-15.  It is interesting to read all three accounts.

Mary:
10 IC Starfish Crunch – The PAX lay spread eagle on their backs, feet just above ground. On count of 1, the PAX crunch at the core bringing the left leg and right arm together, On 2, return to start. On 3, crunch bringing the right leg and left arm together, on 4, return to start.
5 IC Superman Yellow Sun – Superman position, while doing sun gods.  Yellow sun=forward, Red=backward
5 IC Superman Red Sun

Couple minues remained, so we sprint up the hill and mosey back.

I'll leave the moleskin up to you guys, there was plenty.  I'll get you started:

  • It was a bag of seed, not weed
  • Clark thought he escaped the SSH by coming in at SVU time.
  • Getting 1 sunflower seed out of a plastic bag with gloves on proves to be somewhat difficult.
  • Q demos the Hydraulic Squats and all the sudden everyone "has bad knees", but does them anyway.
  • Tclaps to Skipper for coming over to visit Mustang.
  • Some Mustang defected to SVU cause we might get dirty (we most certainly got very wet), but I'm glad we have a choice of AO.  I liked seeing the 2 AO's mixing it up a little today.
  • Clark chooses the biggest rock on the entire AO!  However, manages to break it in half when throwing it down so that no one has to endure that rock again.
  •
