Six men made it out on an absolutely spectacular northwest Charlotte morning in search of Rocky Mountain High. To use the proper vernacular, it was dope.

The Thang

Mosey to back parking lot to the track. Do a mess of exercises at each end of the track with moseying in between

Lap 1

  • 10 burpees

  • Squats with flair (flair was 1) miyagi (front), 2) fire hydrant (side), 3) donkey (back) for each leg for 8 total revolutions

  • Cockeyed Mercans

    Run 1/2 lap

    Ab Station 1:

  • Legs 90 degrees – reverse curls (ankle ups) – 20

  • Legs 45 degrees – high flutter 20

  • Boat pose – to Mason twist 20

  • Alternating full leg lifts – 20

  • Half WWII (WWI?) sit ups – 20

  • Freddie Mercury – 20

  • Run 1/2 lap

Lap 2

  • Side to side Mercans – 8

  • Around the World Lunges (front, side and back)

  • CDD – 10 I/C

  • Run 1/2 lap

    Ab Station 2:

    Do each of these for one minute:

  • Plank with alternating shoulder taps

  • Boat pose

  • Bicycle / Freddie Mercury

  • Elbow plank with dolphin dry hump (arch back up)

    Run 1/2 lap

 

Lap 3

  • 3-2-1 Mercans (wide, middle, diamond) – 8 total sets

  • Apollo Anton ono – 10I/C

  • Hand release Mercans – 10

    Run 1/2 lap

    Ab station 3:

  • On back, legs flat, elbows out, do alternating crunches to sides – 20

  • Knees up, pulse with shoulders off ground – 20

  • On back, knees up, elbows out, do alternating crunches to sides – 20

  • Knees up, pulse with shoulders off ground – 20

  • On back, feet down, do alternating crunches to sides with bringing one leg up and extend other leg to front – 20

  • Knees up, pulse with shoulders off ground – 20

  • On back, feet down, bring both knees up for front crunch – 20

  • Knees up, pulse with shoulders off ground – 20

    Moleskine

  • Rocky Mountain High them seemed fitting for whichever Q came up with this workout

  • When we made it to the track Pax were advised that we worked out “over hare” first and then “over thare” next and back again

  • Almost ditched a tardy Arizona but alas, we could not shake the tail

  • We will try the reverse dolphin dry humpers next time

  • By the way, WTF is a shoulder pulse?

  • Covered this ground previously, but some spouses have provided a definitive ruling that dry humping does not constitute cheating

  • Q constructive feedback includes bringing yoga mats next time. Boat pose is not so easy on one’s coccyx

  • It’s not Q’s fault, it’s asphalt (not sure I captured that one correctly, but we will definitely be hearing that one again)

  • Do you get uncomfortable when you look at an unkempt bush?

  • There just may be a yoga themed workout in the future. Currently in the market for the largest unitard I can find
