AO

5 pax posted for some fun and games at Bailey Road Park.  There was sweat and pain, winners and losers, and controversy along the way.  The fun started at 0630 with Kid Rock and Moses warming up with 2+ miles at fellowship pace…seriously, KR wouldn't stop talking.

After a lengthy warm-up, including form runnning (i.e. karaoke, forward, backward, high knee, side step, butt kickers), some typical warm-up exercises on Broadway (SSH, IST, windmills, shoulder touches, knee-ups, and stretching – if you can call Jethro's and KR's teetering on their toes stretching), we made our way across the fields toward the disc golf course.

There's a great grass hill between the soccer fields and the parking lot.  We made use of that to warm up our shoulders with crawl-bear up the hill and shoulder touches x10…repeato.

Captains Jethro and Snare chose teams and we were off.  Each team played one disc and took turns throwing.  AFter every throw that didn't hit the basket, each team members completed 10 excercise (1st – shoulder touch merkins, 2nd – squats, 3rd – knee ups) repeating these exercises on hole 4-6, 7-9, etc.  The team that won the hole would plank while the losing team completed 5 burpees…on one hole which Team Snare won (maybe because they weren't doing the exercise prescribed…or maybe because they were superior athetes…whatever), they joined Team Jethro for the burpee pentalty.  So in the end, just the discgolf portion of this work included roughly:

40 burpees, 150 shoulder touch merkins, 150 squats, and 150 knee-ups.

On the soccer field, we had enough time for some running and wheelbarrows to complete 2 miles during the workout.  We finished with some leg stretches.

Well done, men.

Aussie took us out

Moleskin:

1. Congrats to Team Snare (Snare and Aussie), who "won" 8 – 7 **.  Snare has now discovered that this workout is roughly 1 mile from his home and will never miss another. Thanks for your commitment.  I'm looking forward to a Snare Q…maybe next week?

2. Tclaps Jethro, for the flying EH with the maintenance guy, who said he NEEDED a workout like this.  He's definitely on my team if he posts.  Dibs.

3. Team Snare has committed to throwing with their off hands next time to remove their * while Team Jethro has committed to absolutely nothing.

Twas an honor, men.  Thanks for making my morning workout fun.

Oh yeah, Jersey Boy, that bacon in a bag thing is phenomenal!  I tried it again at Great Harvest Bread Co.
