13 of LKN's finest went on a 6 mile running adventure in the early morning gloom and humidity in search of Ninja Turtles. [FNG-1 "Out Cold" Honey Bee's Father]
The route this morning took us through the streets of Wynfield, McAulay, Birkdale and the Glens on our way by the Dukes Water Treatment Plant. The PAX stayed close together for most of the run as we all seemed to have the same goal in mind: which was to have a nice comfortable run this morning and to let our bodies recover from the hard/harder workouts from the day/days prior that had taken its toll. There was much mumble chatter along the way which might have been the reason we did not see any turtles. We weren't very Ninja like in that regard. While we did not see any turtles we did come accross Br'er Rabbit scampering around near the first mile of our journey.
I want to offer an apology to those that ended up a little lost on the way back. I did say that I was going to take it easy and sweep the route but for some reason I ended up zoning out and before I realized it I was no longer leading from behind as one of the Pax mentioned. I was thankful that all returned safely and that we had a shining star (Lone Star) to lead those that were lost back home.
In all it was a very enjoyable run with a great group of HIMs. I enjoyed the honor of leading these fine men today and look forward to seeing everyone again soon out in the gloom.
Please keep Fresh Prince in your thoughts and prayers as it came to my attention that a family member of his suffered from a stroke recently.
For some extra miles in the evening here is a good site that has many options for runs and other workouts all ending with an ice cold beverage. Check out this link http://www.workforyourbeer.com/calendar.html
If anyone is ever interested in heading out to one of these events DM me.
Humbly yours,
