Better late than never…it took me several weeks to compose my thoughts around the first Quien es el Mas Macho event, so read on for a re-cap of what most of you missed.
6 PAX + 1 FNG + 2 2.0's answered the bell for the first in a series of events to see who is the most macho in the Lake Norman region. The weather was perfect for fishing that day, overcast with a slight breeze and the competitors were poised to catch some big ones on Mt Island Lake. The group launched promptly at 7am as a rag tag armada of kayaks, canoes and boats and all went there separate ways. Some of us (mooch) enjoyed a we little nip of bourbon on the cool morning lake. Over the next several hours the competition was fierce – Sweet C in his one man dingy was hauling in fish left and right. Hall Monitor and his crew were fishing hard somewhere on the lake.
As the final hour approached YHC and 2.0 were waiting patiently at the dock for the return of SS Hall Monitor and Sweet C. YHC caught 2, but it turns out that Sweet C is a real life fish whisperer as he caught 5 giants (they were this _________big). Final totals for the first Quien es el Mas Macho event:
- Sweet C = 5 (1st Place)
- FNG = 4 (2nd Place)
- Hall Monitor = 4 (2nd Place)
- BEP + 2.0 = 2 (3rd Place)
- TBone + 2.0 = 2
- Gang Green = 1
- Mooch = 1 bottle of bourbon
Thanks to everyone who participated and donated $$ or gear to the newly formed Hopewell Fishing Team – 100% of all contributions went to the team for the upcoming season.
Quien es el Mas Macho Standings (After 1 Event)
As a reminder PAX receive 15 points just for participating in the event and additional points for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. Total points will be added across all events with the winner announced at the F3 Lake Norman Christmas Party in December.
