About six weeks ago I signed up for the Ironhorse Challenge (link here for those unfamiliar). Without getting into great detail, part of the spirit of the challenge is to both Q regularly and post away from your home or routine AO’s – to go deeper with F3; lead, get in some 2nd and 3rd F, and try new workouts. So when The Force offered up The Wilderness Q for the first time, I immediately thought – challenge accepted!
Warmorama:
- SSH x 20
- IST x 15
- Windmill x 15
- Cotton-Picker x 15
- At this point the BRR crowd was delighted with the light warmup and stretches.
Thang:
- Run to the circle
- Side hop counter-clockwise around the circle
- Reverse hop back around clockwise
- Bear crawl around the circle
- Run about halfway down the hill… quadraphillia up the Chaddsley side of the hill, bear crawl over the grass, lunge down the Hugh Torrance side.
- Repeat. Repeat again. At this point the BRR crowd hates me. Make it FOUR – REPEAT!
- Run back to the circle
- Makhtar N'Diayes x 20
- Scorpion Dry Dock x 10, switch leg, 10 more
- Plank-Jack x 20
- Run home (Freddie Mercury at Queens Corner, apparently that’s a thing here?)
Mary:
- Superman (however long it takes to sing the song from The Greatest American Hero)
- Switch to banana, back to superman, back to banana
- Peter Parker x 10 – hold it – Parker Peter x 10
- WWII x 25
- Plank, 10 count from each pax, recover recover
Moleskine:
Thank you The Force for the opportunity to lead. I don’t visit The Wilderness as often as I should. I tend to go to Night Ranger (beer + tacos > coffee + donuts). But it’s fun to mix it up sometimes!
Hearing the BRR talk made me really miss not going this year. BRR just feels like the F3 Superbowl. I decided to give Tuna 200 a try this year instead. Speaking of which, this maybe needs to be my last bootcamp for a while!
Really good crowd today, thank you all for coming, hopefully the beating was worthwhile. I don’t know the AO super well so I tried to mix it up. Keep all those in Hurricane Florence’s path in your prayers.
