If you find yourself in a rut, nothing beats some 2nd F to get out of it.

Summer officially ends tomorrow, but you wouldn't know it by the temperatures.  A warm morning at Emmaus went down something like this:

0435:  PAX started gathering.  Great to meet Alpo for the first time.  He's been in F3 for roughly a year and recently moved to our region from the Wake Forest area.

0445:  Running.  We set off slowly on the "Reverse Emmaus Loop".  But actually, we cut a few corners in an attempt to keep the mileage well under 5.  In fact, with all the corners we cut, the route was just under 4 miles.  Excellent route cutting!

0525:  YHC led a few random stretches then it was time for some 2nd F.

0530 Discussion:

Patience and fatherhood.  YHC didn't have any reading materials, merely initiated an honest and open discussion and the Emmaus PAX did what they do best:  Offer encouragement, honesty, and support.  It was a fantastic morning!  See Moleskin for more.

Moleskin:

  1. First, a hearty welcome again to Alpo to our region.  You're a fine runner for someone who claims not to be much of a runner!  We're happy you chose Huntersville and we're looking forward to getting to know you more.  Good luck this weekend.
  2. Appreciate the 2nd F and honest discussions with everyone.  Much needed for YHC!
  3. Jedi broke his wrist at The Blender a few weeks back and YHC demanded to know who was responsible!  Just kidding.  Agreed buddy that being away from F3 for any period of time is a downer.  This was YHC's first post all week and even that was enough to make me miss everyone.  Appreciate the opportunity to lead today bud, and your contributions to our discussion.
  4. Crab Legs and Billy Bob led the way today and even got in some extra credit.  Nicely done.  Great to get your points of view as well.
  5. We cut a few corners on the "Reverse Emmaus Route" today, but Bouncey and Dingo went above and beyond that!  They found some sort of magical shortcut from the restrooms at The General to the greenway in Birkdale Village.  (Side Note:  Someone help Bouncey with this question on Strava:  "Any tips on not having to use the restroom halfway through runs?!?!  Asking for a friend…"  Someone please help out…Bouncey's friend lol).  But I digress.  Was running smooth myself and them BAM, passed by Dingo and Bouncey.  For someone with "directional issues" like YHC, that was remarkably impressive gents!  Sorry you both had to leave before 2nd F time, but it was good to chat with you for a bit during the run.  We discussed trying to get our Y-Guides Troop back together and it will be awesome when we do, aye!
  6. Meanwhile, Jaws and Jingle Bells refused to cut the last corner and ended in a slightly different spot.  Well done gents, and back right on time.  Glad you resisted the urge to do the Sharknado today, I know you both love that workout.  Appreciated your contributions to our 2nd F today.
  7. Everyone sort of "paired up" on the run today and I appreciate that Blackberry ran about the same pace as Alpo.  Also appreciate your usual candidness and humor during 2nd F.  We are collectively glad that some of the things you shared are never actually spoken out loud, lol.  S2K.

Can't imagine a better way to start a Friday.  Appreciate you gents, aye.
