10:47am I get a text from The Count. Uptown Taco Tuesday is happening at The Local 105 E. 5th Street . . same block as my place of employeement. Since I don't question The Count and since I didn't post in the morning, I decide to show. Meet up is 11:45am. I roll in at 12:05 and wander over to a table 5 deep. I introduce myself as my given birth name. Rookie mistake. . . mumble chatter ensues.
Luckily $2 Tacos come up and break up the akwardness. For this Gringo from California who aspires to someday speak Taqueria Spanglish, the Tacos were decent. Not the authentic little Mexican street tacos . . . more like Frat House I'm drunk and have the munchie tacos. White Flour Tortillas, Lettuce, Cheese, Sour Cream, Mystery Sauce and fillings of Chicken, Steak, Ground Beef, and Veggie. Chicken was wet and bland. Steak was dry and bland. Ground Beef was ground beef. Winner hands down was Veggie which had possibly some Pablano Peppers. PAX concensus was Ground Beef. Mutiny!!
Service was slow. . . but the server seemed to have some talent. . . just not at being a server.
