Four-man Ultimate is NOT for sissies!

YHC was only a couple of days out from a bad flu, but the wind was calling for an offering and only a game of Ultimate will do to appease its restless spirit.

A massive outpouring of emails, texts, and Twitter shout-outs mostly went unheeded, but Rooter saw the preblast and heeded the call, showing up even before the Q. Waffle House, the most steadfast BRP attendee, rolled in next, but that left us wanting for at least one more to round out the minimum complement for Ultimate. Sadly, none appeared, so warmups ensued and a modified bootcamp was in the works. . .

But soft! What light through yonder parking lot breaks? It is the east, and Titan is the sun!

Strolling (not jogging, mind you) down the ramp, Titan appeared and enthralled us with his Tale of the Standard where his watch said he ran four miles in 26 minutes. Calling BS on himself, theories were postulated regarding the errant reading, but the end result was that he needed to put in some more miles in the form of sprinting during four-man Ultimate. Game on!

Waffle House and Titan vs. Jersey Boy and Rooter

It became clear early on that Rooter was pushing for MVP, as he made even bad throws look good with his superstar hustle. Waffle House and Jersey Boy exhibited solid–if not heroic–overall skills and Titan dominated with his aggressive defense, but it was clear that the teams needed a shake-up, so. . .

The ping-pong scoring that ensued seemed to indicate a better match-up, so we stuck with it for the remainder of the game.

Did we mention that four-man Ultimate requires a LOT of sprinting? It's a helluva cardio workout and a great way to keep limber for other activities.

Everyone got to score at least once and many exciting catches and scoring drives made for a high-energy game. No final score because of the team changes, but let's just say that Rooter can claim overall victory.

Rooter and YHC attended the QSource at Waterbean and both contributed to the conversation on leadership, rounding out a great morning.

Thanks for coming out, gentlemen! I was not feeling a bootcamp that morning, so I'm glad we got to play!

We may have Rooter as the BRP virgin Q next week, followed by Holiday's virgin BRP Q on 1/19.
