Ocho de Enero

Nine strapping gentlemen came out to the Quarry to celebrate Ocho de Enero, which loosely translated in the 8th of January. We were having a re-enactment of this day in history on January 8, 1992, when US President George H. W. Bush got ill and vomited on the lap of the Japanese prime minister. Thankfully, everybody’s lap came out clean today.

The Thang

Grab 5 frisbees (markers), get Pax thinking that we may play some disc golf, and mosey over to the front of school for the Main Event:

  • Curb Dips
  • Burpees

Mary

Mosey/walk to the covered ab station. Do all of these consecutively for a 20 count

Moleskine

  • Nine Pax on a Tuesday was similar to the lines you hear about at a gym in January. Strong showing gents, keep up to good work

  • This is the weirdest conga line ever

  • We were graced with an appearance by 911. Apparently his PT partner who got him back to full strength may pay us a visit on Thursday

  • Slow Roll’s extra credit efforts today included wearing a 20 pound weight vest. Apparently he got the idea while interning with the Taliban in Afghanistan in 1979

  • Others may have been sporting what appeared to be weight belts during todays workout, although they did not refer to them as such

  • Q did exercises at the top of the hill while facing the street to protect Pax from any unseen cars

  • Have you ever played Revolution? Is that like Fortnite? Alas, no, it’s just a disc golf course

  • Q is pretty certain if that if you happen to vomit on him, he will vomit right back on you. Consider yourself warned

  • By my unofficial count that is 64 reps of eight different exercises for a whopping 512 reps today

  • Q testimony – the first time Arizona brought out the Ocho Loco workout about a year or so ago, I definitely thought he was crazy, and most definitely came well short of the proposed reps. That said, I managed to get all of the reps in today and am confident you can too.

  • Great work men!
