Warm-o-rama

Mosey around the lot – throw in a little karaoke, head to the fountain

Been a while since I was at a workout that warmed up around the fountain – but with 5, that was not to happen today.

Circle up near the fountain – SSH, IST, Windmils, Mountain Climbers, Mericans, Toy Soldiers, Cotton Pickers

Line up for an indiain run to the lower exit.  At the exit, break formation and run to the base of copperhead hill.

THE THANG

The pre-blast promised a March Madness themed workout.  Setting up regions and brakcets (Legs, Chest, Cardio, etc) seemed like a lot of work.  So I went with 17s.  Like 11s, but moreso.

#1 seed at the bottom of the hill = 1 merican, run up the hill to met the #16 seed = 16 jump squats

To make it more interesting – on the odd runs up – go backwards/quadrafeelia style.

The PAX realized early on – we were in for a lot of mericans, and squat jumps and hill climbs. The totals would be = 136 mericans, 136 squat jumps and 16 hill climbs (8 forward and 8 backwards).  The hill turned out to be a good challenge – but we were up for it.

Halftime – after the 8/9 rotation we stopped at the top of the hill for some mary'ish exercises – LBCs, WW2 Sit-ups

Complete the second Half – meet at the top of the hill for Round 2 of Mary – the details of which escape me.

Head down the hill and towards the school – for a short break we stopped at the Birthday rock and sang Happy Birthday to St Marks newest 6 year old – Connor, or Cole or Colin – who apparently likes Dinosaurs.

Continue mosey to the carpool wall – people's chair with air presses, Australian Mountain Climbers

Mosey to the blocks.  The order and amount of the exercises will remain known only to the 5 of us – but for the rest of the thousands of you reading this – we did curls, presses, lawn mowers, rows – some multiple times.

Put back the blocks.

Head to the reserved parking lot for Mary:

Pretzel Crunch, Rosalita, Finish Pretzel Crunch, Dying Cockroach, Ws, Elbow plank to a hand plank and back to elbow, low flutters, and finish with THE Burpee.

Recover, Recover

Bracket Busting Moleskine:

– The hill was a good challenge.  Early on I told the Force there might be an audible.  Instead we took a halftime and pressed on – I'm not sure I would have done that with out the group pushing me.  Thanks.

– Great group this morning – its nice to have a smaller group sometimes – a lot of chatter and some good 2ndF sprinkled in.

– The PAX will follow a Q in almost every circumstance – but God forbid you start the pretzel crunch and throw a Rosalita in before you do the other leg.  I've done this before and every time the PAX goes nuts.  "You forgot something" "I'm going to be out of balance" "What's the deal?"

– Always an honor to be with this group – thanks for letting me lead.

Peace,

Holiday
