1st Thursday Challenge, May 2019 Edition at The Wilderness

Not included in the Pax list:  Welcome home to NC, Zare (YHC's 2.0).

12 emerged from the darkness into the gloom, most knowing exactly what was in store.  YHC and Zare walked in with 90 seconds to spare, carrying the coupon for MWAR.  0510 the bell rang and it was time to get after it.  Here's how it went…

Quick, short lap around the circle.  SSHs, ISTs, Cotton Pickers, walk it out to plank, mtn climber, merkins.  That's enough for the warm-o-rama, as we gotta get out to the parkway in time to wish the M a good FiA workout on her way by.

So we mosey'ed to the parkway and up to the weight room.  There goes the M.  Check that box.

The 1stThursdayChallenge is always:

21 eight-count burners

21 merkins

21 dying cockroaches

Then a lap.  Lap today was down the hill to the stop sign, then quadrophelia up to the last streetlight, then regular to the rocks again.

Then the same exercises, 18 count.  Then lap, then 15, and so on.

Then mosey (quickly) back to the start for MWAR.  All pax took a turn on the rope then took a turn calling a Mary exercise.  We completed the Challenge, but took us 6 mins extra time.  Worth the effort though.  We coulda finished by 5:55 had there been just 6 of us – thus agreed the pax was happy to over.

Plenty of mumblechatter by all up at the weightroom, unless it was your turn to call cadence.  But not a lot by the time we were on the 5th, 6th laps up the hill backwards…

Great to have Lawn Dart join us to see what the Challenge was all about.

Also great to have Cherry Bomb.  YHC has posted with C-Bomb numerous times lately.  Gotta catch a Q by him though – YHC can tell he's a natural.

If it wasn't mumblechatter making noise, it was the flatulance.  And not the usual disturbing Amen kind.  The taco truck may have hit Zare hard, but there was plenty of contribution from the other pax as well.

Great to start the day with these men.  Welcome home, Zare (formerly known as NoFry before adulthood).  Home this week for the summer from FSU, but not to return.  Zare was born a Tar Heel and will be a Tar Heel in Chapel Hill this Fall.  He'll be around for plenty of F3ing this summer.  State and dook fans should all look him up.
