YHC aranged for some habitat service work for 6/22 and these fine #HIMs listed above showed up, some after completing a triathalon (Twinkle, Hefty Kaczynski).
Arriving onsite an Fabio knows the Habitat GC from way back when. Nobody is surprised by this since Fabio knows everyone. As the building teams draft picks go on, everyone remains silent through the volunteering for tar application. PAX participated in building walls, laying subfloor, and installing crawl space insualtion board/waterproofing.
P-funk attempts to earn some street credit with the nail gun, yells "step off me bro" and double taps the 2×6 studded wall's bottom plate only to have the 2nd nail hit the top of the first which it immediately curls and hits YHC in the shoulder before striking him in the cheek (just below the left eye). Somehow that didn't end badly. No blood, not even a scratch.
We were also joined in the build with the fine men from Pursuit Church, 3 teenagers from North Lincoln, and some awesome Habitat folks including the neighbor of the new build. In the end we finished about 1/2 of the framing, all subfloor, crawlspace foamboard insulation waterproofing.
