Sweat Fest at The Estate 13-Jul-2019

FNG-1 = Derrick Springs (from West Virginia?), first post PAX brought out by Mooch.

FNG-2 = Brandywine, not registered on website yet.

FNG-3 and FNG-4 = Stars and Stripes, Code Blue's 2.0 and 2.1 (Adam and Aaron)

FNG-5 = Dental, Lone Star's 2.0

Apologies for the late backblast.  Yesterday at The Estate, 20 PAX came out despite the heat for a boot camp workout.

Several of these men either double or tripled down.  Great job men.  YHC was not among that crowd, due to a slight hammy issue.  Here is roughly what went down:

0700:

WARM-O-RAMA:

  • Disclaimer given.
  • Everyone grab all the cinder blocks + some rocks (20 PAX > # cinder blocks!).  Circle up.
  • SSH x 5 IC

The Thing:

  • Burpees x 15 OYO
  • Bent over block rows x 10 IC.  There were 4 hockey sticks which allowed for 2 blocks during this exercise, that the PAX took turns using.
  • Front shoulder press x 10 IC
  • Low Flutters x 25 IC
  • LBCs x 25 IC

Repeato x 6 more times all the above if memory serves correctly.  Decrease the Burpees by 1 each set.

During one set we substituted fire hydrants / Jane Fonda x 10 IC each side for Low Flutters.

During another set we substituted Low Dollys x 10 IC for the Low Flutters.

We ran about 3 "recovery laps" and planked a bit to break up the routine.

Totals, to the best of my memory:

Burpees:  84

Bent over rows:  142 (may have counted to 11 once by mistake)

Shoulder Press:  120 (last set we substituted Zamporini Carry to put the blocks back)

Low Flutters:  250

LBCs:  350

Mary:

  • Slow Deep Squats x 10 IC
  • Elbow Plank x 30 seconds

Recover, recover.  According to Strava, we covered 1.56 miles.

Moleskin:

  1. Prayers for friends of 98 Degrees and Elmers who have recently lost dear family members.
  2. Prayers for successful surgery for Crab Legs on Monday.
  3. T-Claps to Mooch bringing out an FNG Derrick.  By 20 minutes in he still wasn't sweating, which is quite a feat considering the heat, humidity, and the fact that YHC had us no where near any shade.
  4. Great job by Lone Star and his little guy "Dental", who kept us honest on the number of Burpees.
  5. In fact, there were requests from Frogger, Tantrum, and maybe others for Dental to pick up the slack and do their share of Burpees also!
  6. If you ask Tantrum, Mooch, and The Force, they are all "Mumblechatter all Stars".  But to be honest, I can't really process it in real time so it doesn't really affect me.
  7. Some particular gems included:  Mooch shamelessly trying to short us several reps of Low Flutters (but thankfully Snake Eyes keeps an honest count), Tantrum insisting YHC said "Running OR Burpees" at one point but not both, someone suggested Tantrum did only 4 Burpees to which he said "Did I do that many"?, Tantrum said even Snake Eyes is ready to turn on you – once that happens it's over!, and The Force asking early if this workout was merely another ploy to get more PAX to sign up to Q.
  8. Stars and Stripes were out in front on all the running, nicely done gents.
  9. There was undoubtedly much more backblast worthy mumblechatter that I'm forgetting.  Please sign off below in comments.
  10. Thank you Rooter for the opportunity to lead this fine crew.

Enjoyed it gents.  It was a great crew.
