The BRR Debrief

Event Date

Sep 10, 2019

We had a great crowd on hand this morning for IPC, BRR and general beatdown recovery.  Started off with a curveball, we walked to the right instead of to the left.  We know, it was crazy.  Good thing too, had we taken the usual route we would have missed Rebound rolling in so we circled back for him.  Then, even crazier, we walked the cul de sac instead of going right or left.  WHAT????  Yep, crazy.  Worked in a bit more core related exercise this morning – standing jane fonda's, balance on 1 leg, leg lifts.  There was the usual stretching.  There was unusual humidity, but we hung tough and finished strong.  As for the mumble chatter, we talked a lot about the BRR.  Congrats to our brothers who competed and completed the race.  Here is what we were able to learn about the event in addition to the fact that y'all ran really far and really fast:

  • Abrams left a lung on the mountain after his first leg
  • Vortex left a lot more on the mountain in a streaming spray sort of fashion and still managed to run his10.5 mile leg with 0 bodily fluids left
  • Fabio nursing an injury shreds he mountains….and like a Werewolf of London….his hair was perfect
  • Hefty informed us he can sleep anywhere, got a solid 8 hours of sleep in an econoline van with 5 other sweaty dudes surrounding him
  • On the flip side, Clark got a solid 30 minutes in and could've been an extra in World War Z by Saturday morning
  • Skipper went off course…..nuff said
  • The mountain goat legs were not enough to slow down Goodwrench
  • Dandelion's transformation is complete, he is officially identifying as a runner.  According to his watch, he ran a leg that was 6 miles long and gained 9 miles of elevation.
  • Blart crushing elevation gain of 1403 in the 3rd leg!
  • Billy came home from the mountains a little lighter…congrats on the engagement
  • Cropduster wins the best family support award

Now that the relay is over….y'all need some BBBroga recovery, c'mon out and join us!
