Hills, Humidity and Burpees

8 men braved the humidity this morning at Cobalt. One of the Pax requested some burpees so we worked a few in. Disclaimer said and we were off.

Warm-up

SSH 20 IC, Windmills 15 IC, 20 Merkins OYO, 20 LBC OYO, 25 Merkins OYO, 25 American Hammer OYO, 30 Merkins OYO, 30 LBC OYO

Thang

Run out of clubhouse to Overlook Mountain Drive – bottom of the hill was launch point.

Suicides – 6 mailboxes up the hill. Alternate between 5 burpees and 10 leg lifts at each of six mailboxes.

Example: 1) Run from launch point to first mailbox, perform 5 burpees. Run back to launch point. 2) Run from launch point to first mailbox, perform 5 burpees, run to second mailbox, perform 10 leg lifts, run back to launch point. And so on through the 6 mailboxes. Some of the Pax repeated #6 to finish as a group. This set was about 1.5 miles running.

Run to clubhouse entrance and make a right to the first cul de sac on the left. Circle for the following:

20 Merkins OYO, 20 LBC OYO, 20 CDD OYO, 20 American Hammer OYO, 20 Merkins OYO, 20 LBS (Little Baby Squats)

Run to the clubhouse entrance – bottom of hill past clubhouse is launch point.

Backwards run up the hill to cul de sac on left. Circle for 20 Merkins. Run back to launch point at bottom of hill.

2.6 miles running total on my Garmin. Might be discrepancies with other technology but that was my total.

Moleskin

  • Q got immediate feedback from Pax that they needed a hard workout today. Q tried to honor the request. Q also got immediate feedback on the suicide set – thinking it was overall positive??
  • El Tigre and Surf and Turf got some extra credit with before / after runs. Q joined Surf afterwards too.
  • Great work across the board today fellas. Chatter was at a minimum during some of the sets or Q missed some of it.
  • Ozzie and Kruggerand doing an OCR at the WWC soon which involves a boat race at the end. Kicker is the boats are homemade apparently. Good luck fellas. Might have to come and cheer you on.
  • Several prayer requests – Surf and Turf for sale of his condo, Surf's good friend, Tool Time's boss, Twister's work situation.
  • Thanks for letting me lead this morning and take us out in prayer. Was an honor for me on both fronts.
