Flipping Through Stations at The Wilderness

Not listed above, Zaire (YHC 2.0 on Fall Break from college).

Well with BEP having me run ridiculous amounts of miles 4x/week these days, including the standard this AM, YHC was looking to do something different, and with no running.  "Different" was found at the workplace yesterday afternoon as I toured the facilities simply looking for something heavy. Jackpot. Came across some kind of huge tractor tire, and after picking Zaire up at 10PM last night on his way home from UNC, we used BEP's truck to go get it.  30 mins later, we finally made physics our friend and figured out how to get the beast into the truck bed.  The thing might weigh 300 lbs.

So the pax arrived in the gloom to receive the disclaimer, mosey around the tree twice, have a short warm-o-rama, then around the corner to find the stations ready and waiting… big tire in the middle.

Stations were:

Timer: core work.  1st round: 20 sit-ups. 2nd round: 50 LBCs  3rd round: 20 low flutters in cadence.

Merkins

12 lb KB = squat with shoulder extensions (hold the KB out in front arms straight while doing squats)

Battle Rope (it's big, long thick and black)

Tire Flip (this took 2 pax)

25 lb KB = low, high and full curls

25 lb KB = skull crushers

Medicine ball toss (this was our rest, but man you sure needed to focus in the dark!)

Big Red Ball = front leaning rest crunches (ouch as the last set before being the timer)

Moleskine:

The tire did not disappoint.  Although Toxic and Amen did prove it could be flipped by 1 person, we didn't want any part of that while on a timer.  Instead, we partnered up for 2 sets of it on the timer, and even with a brother lending a hand – that thing was heavy.

Zaire fixed the music by killing the rap and playing GNR.  Good to hear from Axl again.

Toxic had to remove himself from the Mary circle toward the end.  Sounded bad – glad YHC only heard it from my side of the circle.

Very glad to have 11 today – The Wilderness remains strong despite many out in training for the HH, Tuna, etc.  Way to keep it going, TopGun.

YHC will be looking for a truck and volunteers next week to help get that monster of a tire back to the office!
