AO

FNG-1 is Shredder's son Hooper (let's get him on the list).

5 men appeared from the gloom, ready to take on the physical challenges of a historically-based workout.  5 men pushed and pulled, lifted and squatted for an hour, somehow being silly and full of encouragement as their bodies broke down bit by bit.  There was pain.  There was struggle.  There was fatigue.  And there was joy.  5 men left the workout better, ready to take on the challenges of the day.
Here's how it went down…

Warm Up:
20x SSH (x = in cadence)
20x windmills
*** SKipper starts off the snark already as apparently 20x windmills is a new world record
15x Imperial Squat Trooper Walker thingy's
*** couple Q malfunctions as I apparently forgot how to do these, how to count, geez…
20x dippy birds (10/leg)
10x merkins (not too many of these, just enough to warm up the shoulders and triceps)

Go Get a 33# block.  Return to the AO.  Block down…for now…

Group mosey to the AO.
100 merkins
100 situps
OYO, split it up as needed
*** T-claps from afar to FIFO.  He had a few years being a regular in our SVU pax.  Made some big improvements in his weight, cardio, hip flexibility, strength, and even running.  Graduated to the CrossFit world and has continued his fitness journey.  Great guy.  Great friend.  FIFO was so named because he was a Plant Manager.  FIFO stands for First In, First Out, a common mantra in the lean inventory management world.  FIFO's Q style was simple, KISS.  Do many painful things…and like it!
*** Homage to FIFO — need to catch an adult beverage with Mike sometime soon!

Mosey back to the AO.
75 trifectas
75 tri-squat-ya's (lunge left, lunge right, deep squat)
*** FIFO would've kept with the merkins and situps.  I tried to do something to mix up the pain a little bit, although I was questioning my thinking right away.
*** Shirley makes us do math as he questions "what goes into 75?"
*** Pain.  Pain goes into 75.

Mosey to The Not-Grass Field on top of LBH.
50 merkins
50 situps

Mosey back to the AO.
25 trifectas
25 tri-squat-ya's

Return blocks
No time for additional ab work; plenty in the merkin/situps.

Reflection:  Psalms 119:17-18
17 Deal bountifully with Your servant, That I may live and keep Your word [treasuring it and being guided by it day by day].
18 Open my eyes [to spiritual truth] so that I may behold wonderful things from Your law.
– The sub-title of this chapter is, "Meditations and Prayers Relating to the Law of God".  If you are struggling with maintaining a consistent Bible reading, there are some great encouraging nuggets in this chapter.
– Many ways to beat around the bush, but plainly said: I need to personally be reading more in the Bible.  Kind of embarrassing, but admitting the problem is step 1, right?
– I set aside time to strengthen my temporal physical body.
– I need to set aside time to strengthen my permanent spiritual self much more so.
– If you find that you want/need to be reading more in the Bible and need an accountability partner, let me know.  We can work on it together.

Moleskine:
– T-claps to FIFO who inspired this workout.  His 100 merkins/situp's at the clubhouse, 75 at AO, 50 at clubhouse, and 25 at AO workouts were legendarily hateful.  They really pushed the  fatigue and pain factor.  Usually, it's pretty quiet as people were counting.
– Hooper stepped up his glove game this week, going with the neon, full-finger-covering style.  There may have been a slight equipment malfunction, but no doubt he's the Cam Newton of workout glove stylings.
–  SKipper and Shirley chatting about tracking mileage on shoes, which shoes are best, and the various shoe construction factors to maximize mileage.
– Shredder whizzes by me at the end, block in hand, like the workout didn't even phase him.  #ToughGuy.

Great work by all.  Nice to see everyone offering to help others when they finished. #OnePAX

Truly a pleasure and honor to lead you guys.
