MQ Hoodie was out of the country this week, and replacement Q DonHo had a work trip spring up, so the Gaga pax were stuck with the third string Q this morning.
Knowing that several Gaga regulars (Auto, Chamois) had upcoming races, but not knowing what their respective training plans called for, YHC mapped out a 6(ish) mile route that was not the Lego10k and put out a pb.
As the pax trickled into the AO, YHC learned that Chamois was needing to do some 400s – but would do them along YHC's 6 mile route – and Auto planned to hang back at Robbins Park and do the 6 x 800 workout that the Gaga pax ran last week (but that Auto had missed due to sickness). #onTuesdayswehaveoptions was the theme this week.
Anchovy, Lego (+ Lotte), and YHC knocked out some miles at EZ pace. Ended up cutting the 6 mile route a little short to get Anchovy back to the AO earlier and on his way to hit an early work meeting.
GAGASKIN:
- Chamois is dialed in for his half this coming weekend. He took off about a mile into the route to do his 400s, and quickly disappeared from sight. We didn't see him again until we were back in Birkdale.
- Auto shook off the rust from his weeklong illness and crushed his 800s, getting faster on each one. Strong work brother – you are ready for your half as well.
- Lotte had her rave attire on this morning (glow ring) although need to find a way to keep it from falling off when she goes to sniff the ground.
- Anchovy is now ~85 miles from 1000 for the year – strong. He is going to hit that mark for sure.
- Gaga needs to take a field trip to Davidson one of these weeks and give Lego a break from the long trip to Robbins. Appreciate his willingness to drive by multiple AOs every day to come run / work out with us GBs.
- School bus was idling on the usually quiet David Kenney Road. Bus driver was smiling and watching us as we ran past in the dark / 35 degree cold, probably thinking we were cray. Which we are, I guess.
- Thanks to Hoodie (and DH) for the opportunity to lead this morning. Hoodie will presumably be back next week, which probably means that #onTuesdayswegofast will return. EZ was fun while it lasted…..
