Thank you Toxic for the opportunity to lead the PAX this morning.

I thought the “Bus Driver” was going to be a huge success but after arriving early and privately trying the exercise, well, I figured out quickly that a standard BLOCK would be to heavy to perform the movement correctly. So, when the time came to introduce it to the PAX, I questioned whether we should even try it. I hemmed and hawed and even offered everyone the opportunity to use the landscape bricks as a substitution because I knew how difficult it would be. But the PAX didn’t budge. I demonstrated the exercise and we went for it.

Needless to say, the “Bus Driver” flopped. But not all was lost. We learned that the exercise itself is extremely demanding but worthwhile with less weight. We also learned that not all arm and shoulder exercises are meant to be performed with a cinder block – weight matters. We also learned that trying something new like the “Bus Driver” helps us stretch beyond what we think we can do, which I believe is a fundamental part of F3.

Men, I truly appreciate the opportunity to lead you this morning. I believe in providing an opportunity for each PAX to physically challenge themselves beyond what they thought was possible. In this way, when we think we cannot dig any deeper and we rise to the challenge before us, we can then grow physically as well as mentally and spiritually as we set the “you against you” bar one more rung higher.
