After a late preblast last night, I didn't expect to see too many guys at Viking today — or, really, any. But superheroes don't let each other down. I'm not going to assign each PAX an Avenger name, but the reliables were there and ready to roll. Anyway, my 2.1 had found a workout where you do it while watching an Avengers movie and do exercises based on the action, like a squat jump every time Hawkeye shoots an arrow. She mentioned to me that there were workouts that didn't involve watching the movie concurrently, so I looked one up. Here's what we did…
Preparatory work
SSH, Toy Soldier, IST, D Shrute, slow squat, slow Merican, mountain climbers, willie mays hays (nod to Moses)
The Battle:
(Pasted at the bottom)
We ended up doing 5 sets with a short run in between each set.
Moleskine:
- The flow step was awkward – I don't Fescue ever did get it, but he didn't have any good examples to watch
- Jersey's dad joke of the day – "I did the Avengers workout and I'm not even Thor!" Ouch.
- Canuck looked like he was shot out of a cannon on our runs – he is getting ready for IPC week 3 and probably was hoping for more Mericans
- Side elbow plank on pavement hurts. What hurts worse is forgetting the name of the exercise and calling it the Elbow Job. Jocularity ensued…
- Overall, not a bad little gimmick workout – next time we will need the soundtrack to accompany it
