Rocks and stars

AO

3 faithful pax congregated at North Meck Park to look at some stars and do some exercises along the way.  Since we have unofficially renamed Viking Planetarium, I think Q's are trying to work in some horizontal exercises to make sure we get a chance to count the stars and constellations.  Here's what we did today:

Warm-up jog around the lower parking lot at NMP, followed by SSH, Toy Soldier, Long Snapper, and IST, 15 IC.  Mericans x10, squats x15, 1 burpee.

Mosey to picnic area.  The rest of the workout was all 15, 10, 5 reps in cadence and often with a burpee between rounds.  At the benches we did step-ups, incline Mericans, dips (no burpees).

Mosey to tennis courts.  ~90 seconds of Jerry Jeff Walker (wall sits) with some air curls.

Mosey to rock pile to grab a medium-large rock and back to the tennis court lot for 3 rounds.

Round 1 – chest press, skull crushers, W with rock

Round 2 – Curls, overhead press, legs slightly bent straight leg dead lift

Round 3 – LBC w Rock, Double leg raise, pretzel crunch

Mosey back to start, recover recover.

Moleskine:

– Canuck took us out with a nice prayer.

– Speaking of Canuck, he wanted to pay tribute to Jerry Jeff Walker, since he passed this week.  So we did a wall sit, henceforth named the JJW, correlated to his song lyrics.

– We almost got steamrolled by the parks worker opening up the tennis court area.  he was coming in hot!

– Venus was visible today.  Canuck pointed it out, and YHC confirmed with the app while we moseyed back to base.

– Pointing out stars is a good way to get a little extra rest between sets.  Next week I will be prepared with some obscure constellation to identify for the group.  Should buy us a couple minutes.

– Stapler wants to drop a few pounds to get down to fighting weight.  Don't talk to him about cake.
