A squad is > a 2 man team

On a chilly (~32 degree) day at Fartlek, we wanted to taper for people running the Huntersville Half on Saturday.  So we ran an easy route to Gilead and back, turning into a couple Cul-de-sacs; at a nice 2nd F pace.  Most of the Pax got roughly 5 miles.

Oh we added a twist.  With your secret "wing-man", you could send any solo runner back to the start.  But…the payback would've been worse, so all the Pax instead settled on forming a big squad and running together.  Some called this strategy "risk adverse".  Toxic called it something else which is not suitable for a PG13 backblast.

Moleskin:

  1. There may have been monkey-humpers at the Die Hard residence.  I swear this had nothing to do with the fact that he was supposed to be my wing-man.
  2. Enron took us on a tour of his street where Popcorn also lives.  Folks a word of warning: it is easy to get lost in this neighborhood!  Good luck in the Half Marathon Saturday bud!
  3. Frogger and Ultraman will also be running the Half Marathon, but that won't stop either from hitting multiple boot camps this week.  For YHC, that seems like a bold strategy!
  4. Good catching up with Royale today.  Having run the Huntersville Half "Preview" run two weeks ago, he deduced he doesn't need to run the actual race.
  5. On the way back from Gilead, Toxic went "dark" to ensure no one tagged him for a return trip.  Smart move my dude.
  6. Crab Legs, thank you for the opportunity to lead today.  The wing-man idea maybe didn't take off, but "squading up" turned out to be pretty awesome.

Enjoyed it gents.  Turnpike.
