FNG-1 is Spot from Churham who was visiting family.
FNG-2 is Titan’s 2.0 aka Optimus Prime

With an impending 2nd round in QvQ, I was looking for a less strenuous Saturday option and opted for some disc golf. I threw together a map of St Mark’s campus, added an exercise at each “hole” and thought we could do burpees for each toss. By hole 5 I realized this wasn’t the “less strenuous” option I thought I had planned.

YHC arrived a little earlier that usual to hide the frisbees — I didn’t want to alert the pax to the idea that we would be goofing off until after I was sure they were committed. As I was walking back from the fountain, I saw Goat who had also arrived early for a short warm up lap around the church. He probably didn’t think YHC would be doing much running, but when all was said and done we had around 2 miles.

Spot and Uncle Rico rounded out our small posse when 0700 hit, and although I assumed Titan would be 3 minutes behind, we made our way back to the fountain where we started with Dwight Schrutes (weird look from Spot) — Carrot Puller (Spot scratches his head) — Root Vegetable Puller? (glazed over eyes) — Cotton Pickers (I guess they don’t worry about PC things northwest of Charlotte).

Titan joined as expected at 0705 as we move on the SSH. While jumping, we saw Kachow running in and YHC continued the count until he was able to join us for one rep. Then it was on to Windmills followed by the morning instructions. We quickly split into 2 teams, each team took a cheap, flimsy frisbee (I could tell immediattely who the ringers were based on the jibes) and handed out maps of the course. Goat attempted to stall by inquiring about team names, but we shooed him along and his nameless team (Goat, Rico, Spot) was up first.

As soon as they made it to the first hole, Team 2 (Titan, Optimus, Kachow and YHC) began. The plan was to do ascending burpees for each throw that didn’t get to the whole (1 burpee after the 1st toss, 2 after the 2nd, and so on). Let’s just say we were doing a lot of burpees. At 0725 we were only at hole 6 and YHC audibled to make it 1 burpee per toss and do them all once the team gets to the hole (followed by the stated exercise).

With that change we picked up some speed and managed to get through 15 holes before the bell tolled and we called it quits. The drizzle was just starting and everyone had plans immediately following the workout so we skipped coffeeteria. All in all, I think it tuend out well — we’ll have to try it again when we have more teams and better frisbees. Aye!
