Reflection: Don't be Short-sighted

2 Peter 1: 4-9

4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.

5 Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, 6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness 7 and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.

8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless or unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.

Mumblechatter

  • Big thanks to Twinkle for lending a super-charged sound system (I'm sure the neighbors loved it too).  Everyone was super excited to hear GnR start the session.  Apologies for the technical issues getting started (which didn't slow down anybody from starting the workout without YHC).
  • Abrams killed it.  This one was fast runner-centric if they had something more than runner's arms.  Thus this workout was built specifically for the Tank.  He finished a good 4-5 minutes before anyone else and then kept running.
  • Mater was not a fan and wasn't real excited to see YHC and the IPC that came along
  • Mulligan wasn't intellectually challenged enough by the workout
  • Boucher pulled a rope-a-dope and shot out of the first set of Merkins like his hair was on fire (only to find out later he was doing his own thing re: reps)
  • Good to see Crawdad back on the field.  Keep coming out brother – that speed will come back… 😉
  • There was discussion on how 50ft got his name… Eww…
  • Sonar always has been, and still remains, my hero.  Nobody grinds like he does (and then consistently comments about how he needs to do more workouts… well….).  Way to stay with it and finish in under the alotted time.
  • Bertha accused YHC of being grumpy.  Then Mater reminded him that is YHC's normal disposition (doesn't like people – remember?).  I've stopped correcting the mis-quote that is the basis of my F3 name.
  • Cool to see those that finished earlier continue laps around the track until the 6 was finished.  We had quite the grouping there at the end.
  • Everyone get ready for Toto to lead the official Week 1 of IPC next week on Sept 11.

Good to be out and to see folks at an AO vs. OTB events of late.
