AO

4 geriatric old men showed for the first ever Silver Sneakers Club workout on a beautiful fall morning. YT planned a kinder, gentler workout just to throw everyone off.  FNG1 is Cheetah's friend from Strava – also a Steve (to be named in a couple weeks).

Warm Up

20 IC SSH

20 IC Toy Soldiers

15 IC Windmills

20 IC Mountain Climbers

15 IC Tony Hawks

10 IC Merkins

Warm up complete we took an Indian Run to the clubhouse, last guy performing 3 jump squats before taking the lead.

At the first parking lot we did some Knees Over Toes work (check it out on YouTube). Some KOT pistols and some ATG squats. Then we ran around the docks getting in some step ups – 10 each leg – on the benches. Continued the run to the back lot where we circled up for a Burpee Wheel. One person starts and as he comes up the next goes down, etc until we had done 25 rounds or 100 total burpees. Keeps the heart rate in green according to Light Bulb….near perfection. Indian run back to AO, some jumo squats but the run seemed much shorter.

At the AO we circled up for a Merkin Wheel. Same idea but resting position is on your belly. 25 rounds for 100 total as a group. Over to LBH for 3 rounds of Quadraphelia up/mosey back/Sprint up/walk back. One of us suffered a hammy pull on the last sprint….very unfortunate.

Mosey to the back for a Pull up Wheel, same idea, same 100. Quick "Hang Off" to test the grip strength. Then a Block Thrusters Wheel, same idea, same 100. Mosey back to AO for some Mary – flutters, low Dolly and Jane Fonda's.

Reflection

Isaiah 58:13-14 reminds us to focus on keeping the Sabbath Day holy. As we draw close to the Lord and remove the things that we do regularly and replace them with things we want to highlight as a sign of our commitment to our Heavenly Father and His Son, we will have joy and find a greater ability to bring unity in our lives.

FNG1 is a runner! Looking forward to having another "respectable" PAX at SVU in the future. Good job to Cheetah for getting him there.

Cheetah is fast…..period.

Light Bulb is back on and got his first "Respect" workout as a newly ordained "Fifty" on saturday mornings!

In case anyone cares….the hammy pull doesn't seem to bad. Hopeful it is a quick recovery…..in case anyone cares!!! lol

Always fun to lead but I'm not doing all that runnin' stuff again!
