AO

PROLOGUE:

Yeah, I knew it was the weekend of the 10-year anniversary and some Pax would be out of town. I knew that BRP regular Waffle House was coaching soccer that morning. And I knew that on top of all that, Bailey Road Park is not the most well-attended AO under normal circumstances.

Nevertheless, I took the Q so I could have a little fun while getting a great workout.

So, yeah, it was just Master Q Mr. Holland and Your Humble Correspondent. One would think that would put a damper on my genius plan, but one would be wrong. One would be right if we were talking about ultimate Frisbee, but disc golf, it turns out, is probably a little more fun with just two. So take THAT, one! (One needs to have a firm grasp of the absurd to understand why I'm addressing one as a real person.)

One is the loneliest number - Drawception

BODY:

The game is hereafter, henceforth, and hereupon referred to as "Brisk Golf"—super fast disc golf with exercises.

  • After the final player has thrown from the tee, the first player to score wins the hole (speed is essential).
  • After the initial tee-off, players must complete a set of exercises before each throw to the basket (15 merkins, 20 WWIIs, etc. in good form).
  • Even after a player has already scored, the other players must complete the hole and the required exercises.
  • Whoever wins the most holes, wins the game (numbers of throws are not recorded).

SUMMARY:

Mr. Holland and YHC traded leads until the last few of the 20 (you heard me right) holes we completed within the allotted hour. That's when youth and superior skill finally gave Mr. Holland the advantage he needed to gain a three-hole lead.

With our hands dirtied from hundreds of reps, our feet dirtied from miles of running, and our minds dirtied from whatever salacious thoughts linger in our deviant male brains, we emerged from the forest as our primitive ancestors once did: victorious over nature and ready to evolve into higher forms of life.

EPILOGUE:

Brisk Golf™ is easily the most fun way to get a full body, intense cardio workout. You'd be a fool to miss the next one!

Shout-out to Moses, who first introduced this game and then proceeded to injure himself on a wayward root.
